How?? Empire building precedes Israel. They benefit from US militarism but aren't the primary driver of it. If Zionist influence disappeared, defense contractors would still exist, empire maintenance wouldn't cease, NATO wouldn't disappear, military doctrine wouldn't change, especially in the face of a looming China.
There would still be investments in the military but less focus on bombing random countries in the Middle East just because the Zionist state doesn’t like them.
The need to protect the dollar as a global reserve currency and the global force projection required for that wouldn't suddenly come to an end, nor would the need to defend global shipping lanes. These are the legacies of the cold war, any they're not going to disappear if Zionist influence stopped
I didn’t say we would stop investing in the military but without Zionist involvement I don’t think we would have burned trillions on the Middle East post 9/11.
Also, domestic entitlement spending dwarfs defense spending. Defense spending might be larger within discretionary categories, but that's because entitlements are mandatory spending, so the asymmetry you're talking about is partly because of budgeting mechanics.
Most of our politicians are capital first. Israel disappearing would not have a meaningful effect on that.
