Glad Crockett lost and I hope this is the start of corrosive identity politics dying out. Democrats realized awhile ago that they don't need to really do anything for large groups of voters - they just need to entertain them, whether on MSNBC or social media. Crockett didn't have an issues/policy page on her site for a week. She rarely talks about issues. She's opposed to anything the democrat establishment doesn't support. She's vehemently pro-Israel. Her entire career has been crafted to be a loud caricature that animates republicans and entertains democrats. It reminds me of the Tea Party era when republicans would trot out the most asinine black candidates to say wild shyt about Obama and then get dusted in elections.

Crockett has now flamed out of congress and can focus on selling books, going on book tours, and auditioning for a media gig.

They're more than willing to screw over that base for policy that benefits the capital class too. They betray that base by supporting trade policies that hurt unions, off-shore manufacturing, and laws that make it easy for corporations to import and exploit migrant labor.

They continue to vote for them even as they refuse to expand medicaid, something that would be an immense boon to rural health outcomes, and is largely subsidized by the Federal government. What's your point?

You still haven't demonstrated your causal claim, so why are you treating that as an established premise and building another conclusion on top of it?

Does the US stop pursing its hegemonic interests? Will the US stop trying to contain geopolitical foes? Oil security? Dollar dominance? All those things rely on global power projection. That won't stop if Zionist influence wanes.

To them, the risk is worth protecting the global dominance of the dollar and control over strategic energy resources. They see those risks as tolerable when strategic capital interests (dollar hegemony, oil access, military-industrial gains) are protected.

Again, I am not downplaying the influence of the pro-Israel lobby. I just don't think it has supplanted white racism/supremacy.
