That's very true about James White. I remember this one tape I saw of him when I was in high school and I mean literally it was a VHS. Since then I wanted to see him participate, and he was trash lol.

The dunk contest was never a star studded event. It’s always been filled with 1st and 2nd year dudes looking for a come up. The dunk contest was canceled for 2 seasons in the ‘90s and nobody batted an eye.

nikkas didn’t start hyping the dunk contest as some monumental event until LeBron said he wouldn’t do it.

If LeBron did the dunk contest these same nikkas would be downplaying the importance of it.

I've seen a lot of James White dunking mixtapes, clips already before the dunk contest happened. Both White and Green battled each other before in some league outside of NBA and both of them choked in the finals lol

Turns out the exact same shyt happened in NBA as well. Oh well, at least Gerald Green has a dunk contest trophy from 07.
