An empty NBA All-Star Saturday shows what happens when sporting events become too corporate
There is a buzz at All-Star Weekend. Unfortunately, it doesn't often make it into the arena.

Tried watching Saturday highlights and I had to shut it down. It was rough.
Nobody cares about the all star weekend, from veterans to the youngest players. Even fans didn't show up I mean who wants to pay for those overpriced tickets? Silver is a fukking goof.
Not even sure if veterans should be blamed like if you played 10-15 all star games or more, at this point you've already showed everything you can do.
Where is enthusiasm from younger players? Geeks, lames, Euros are boring as hell. You have fat crybaby Luka who wines to the refs, a gambling degenerate Giannis and a horse riding fascist voting fatboy Jokic who doesn't even like basketball. No personality.
Is Ja and Zion both injured? They didn't make the Sunday event, they could've easily joined the dunk contest to entertain fans, to promote themselves. If I were a fringe all star player, I would go participate in one of those events and let them know I exist. Many of these dudes meanwhile either play video games on their free time or do some other goofy shyt.

It's the same as WWE, NFL, UFC, Boxing fans who constantly bring up ticket numbers, viewership and a million excuses on why the product is mediocre.
The new generation of talent just don't have IT. They are more athletic than ever but no grit, no grind, no heart, no glory, no personality, erc
Another reason is Sports is down bad throughout the country because companies are focusing on securing billion dollar steaming and TV deals and less on creating a interesting product. The bag is secured so really dark times are coming.

Fact is, ASW has outlived it's purpose and no amount of hood and trailer park players will make this exciting in the modern times.
Lights were too bright. I've said for a long time that SAS's dumb idea of having all stars sponsor professional dunkers won't work because not only would the lights be too bright, but the same way people didn't care about these dunkers, at least they're in the NBA. These pro dunkers are even less known.
Look, you're well within your right to be mad. I'm just asking how did this news sneak up on actual basketball heads.
Did folks forget or was no one aware? These are 2 separate issues.
I truly believe sports fans, NBA fans especially, are getting rage baited into tons of stupid shyt and missing out on critical changes.
