Biggest difference was less interruptions. Last year had way too much going on corporate marketing after every timeout. Kevin Hart every 5min with a corny joke. Players and fans lost interest
I was mainly talking about the game format.

:laff:HOW IN THE fukk ARE THEY
SUPPOSED TO "PACE THEMSELVES"
AS YOU SAID
IF THEY'RE TRYING TO MAKE
SURE THEY DIDN'T LOSE BY
MORE THAN ONE PT IN A GAME
THAT CAME DOWN TO THE
FINAL POSSESSION?

If you are in a competition, you learn the format and set yourself up to win.

They knew since they didn't play in the first game, they'd have to play 3 games in a row to win.

Then you have to consider the point differential tiebreaker.

If you needed to win by 10, you make a plan for that.

If losing by 1 keeps you alive, you play to win and keep in mind there is a scenario that you can still advance if you limit the damage, because in this system, all losses are not equal and a closer loss is a better result.

This isn't really a foreign concept, you see teams make the playoffs in the NBA or NFL off of some weird tiebreakers or teams advance in the World Cup because a single goal changed the goal differential of the group they were playing in.

What they should have done was allowed ties in the preliminary games to increase the amount of possible results.

I’ve watched every ASG religiously since around 1990 and can remember watching them vividly. From quarters/games 1-3, this is the best I’ve ever seen. Usually even in close 4th quarter games we get bullshyt play for 3 quarters before they lock in. We’ve gotten that from quarter/game one.

At what cost?! :heh: Yea great you were entertained. But this also signals a green light for Silver to give you more manufactured curated wild and zainy outcomes.

And it’s actually deeper than all star games it speaks to instant gratification and dopamine culture. 1 ending isn’t enough now you need FOUR. :snoop:

This won’t stop here, 10 years from now the whole playoffs hell the finals will be some goofball tournament with some father son duo playing horse or some shyt

Everything Silver is doing are things Reddit cacs and bill Simmons types have been begging for. And more mimicking soccer rules bc that’s a real sport :mjpls: And those fanbases never even hooped they just want the wacky zainy shyt
