Thinking about the signing of Williams I think it is unlikely Diaz comes back. Unless he is willing to take less years to be a Met another team is going to offer more years than the Mets are willing to give, specifically Toronto. After how the World Series ended they going to go all out for Diaz.

I hope you're wrong. Diaz and Williams would be the ideal solution for the pen. Suarez also works but he's older than both of them

I think the Mets will offer him the best average annual salary but less years. But the BJs are a wild card. Their ownership is very rich and they are currently traumatized by how they lost the World Series. They might go above and beyond. Stearns ain't doing that.

Happy anniversary. Today would be a great day to re sign him. 5 years is long but I'll live with a bad year 4 or 5 as long as we have success in the playoffs with a super pen. Hard rock has tight slots anyway, so Cohen can make his money back off his casino investment

I don't know if Pete's problems stem from bad advice from the agent or if he's just really stubborn, because 2 years of the same song and dance is something

Boras clients wait for someone to be desperate and be willing to overpay so they can at least go back to a desired destination to match or at least up whatever they offered originally. The Mets offered him a contract already this off season, he's holding out fir the ludicrous offer from someone else to up whatever the Mets offered.
