I'm not going to be the one to piss on my sister's parade. We need more black creators in the market, showing that our culture, history can be rich and inspiring.
I will say that I have observed a trend of division when it comes to black people, or more specifically black women wanting to inspire their people. When a black man talks of inspiring his people, it is open to his people. When black women speak of inspiring, it is typically limited to ''black girls/women".
Interesting, never thought about that. But in general they will say that teh fact they are women makes everything worse, hence black feminism. And in various discussions I end up having they somehow end up going harder against black men than white men or women (it's only recently that some are calling out what is being called "femonationalism", basically white feminism)
how do you get a 7 figure deal for some shyt that ain't even written yet? i mean, even if it was written, what is the logic behind giving someone that kind of money? that seems like some shyt j.k. rowling would be getting, not some unknown. book can't be that goddamn good.
Happened also with Imbolo Mbue. They're looking for the new Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie.
