I admit I may have misinterpreted the poorly worded post that I initially quoted.

What did you mean here?

The fact that when men "bedwench/swirl/buck" they aren't pushing an agenda/ideal to the public. They do it in silence (for the most part, unless you ask them why)

Dusty dudes on youtube don't count, everyone laughs at them.

This woman is writing novels for the masses and not keeping her ideal to herself. The (white) publishers want to help push the swirling agenda and will use her and others as tools to do so.

So in a roundabout way I agreed with you :yeshrug:.

Dawg, you left out the most interesting parts of the article:

So a movie studio bought the rights to the movie before the book was out?

How did they find out about it??
How did they know they wanted to make a movie about that??

Wait - I thought this was her debut book, no wall of a sudden she got 3??

And, there was a "bidding war" for publishers to publish a first time author??
Where they do that at?

Yeah, this smell funnystyle to me...

Everything about this smells funny.

They basically snatched it up in time to introduce a white savior

i think it was like the latest one. I know he only briefly mentioned it specifically in regards to "black feminism". Unless they talked about it more on another show, and i can't remember them doing that.

I'm actually behind on the FiyaStarter podcast. I'm currently listening to Episode #270 that dropped on March 15th, so I ain't heard the latest episode yet. But there was definitely a past episode the past couple months where Basa mentioned that he thinks the "Swirling" shyt will finally come to the surface in Black Society when the new "Bachelorette" airs.

I'm not going to be the one to piss on my sister's parade. We need more black creators in the market, showing that our culture, history can be rich and inspiring.

I will say that I have observed a trend of division when it comes to black people, or more specifically black women wanting to inspire their people. When a black man talks of inspiring his people, it is open to his people. When black women speak of inspiring, it is typically limited to ''black girls/women".
