I cannot trade my time for that little, I’m sorry.

And that's the thing. Cats willing to trade all that time for nothing. and that 90K turns out to not being much when you consider the amount of time workd. Good for that dude but ask him in 10 years if he's still working those hours. Doubt it.

Lets forget about all that. You think it's sustainable to work that many hours? I know it's a feel good tory but to me it underscores a bigger problem. The expectation that people need to work those kinds of hours to make a decent wage. 12 hours a day 6 days a week.

So people think I'm critical of him. I'm not. I'm critical of the system.

Nobody's making any serious changes to the system anytime soon, so it is what it is.
In the meantime, he has a family to feed TODAY.

Ah ok. I moved from acqdemo (pay band) back to GS when I got this job last year.

payband is GOAT if you got a manager willing to give you a decent review/rating.

I would write up hella stuff for my assessments and my former manager would just co-sign it :pachaha:
I'm in AcqDemo now. The current SES wants to even everyone out. My chief always gives me a good review though. If I was in GS I'd be a step 3.

My Dawgs :myman:

Hopefully we can be rich rich like @The Butcher one day:wow:

@The Butcher ain't rich by any means, but he has a government job it's hard to get fired from, full bennies, and 26 paychecks a year that drop like clockwork. :whoa:

Oh, and I only work 4 and a half to five days a week, sometimes for 8, sometimes for two or three. :steviej:
Not having kids or a stay-at-home wife helps too. :bryan:

UPS make better money. After three years, they making $130k. But it’s the same schedule 9-9 or later six days a week. And UPS is harder because they got huge packages and drive a bigger truck. UPS is like working for the post office and a moving company at the same time.

nikkas in here praising working your body to the bone when they don’t do anything remotely physical for a living. What needs to be pushed is ownership. Thinking outside the box and not being a slave. I guess it’s okay to work like that in the short term in your 20’s. All it take is one false slip on the job and you’re hurt, they throw you out like an empty OE bottle. And yes, I’ve delivered packages before, it ain’t an easy job. Working 12 hours a day six days a week is suicide. What all these evil companies need to do is hire more people and pay more. But nikkas is happy with the scraps massa gives them.

They did a study in the DMV area, after all living expenses, someone who make $100k would have ~$11k left over. That means if buddy was living in Montgomery County, MD or something he wouldn’t have nothing, zero, saved after slaving like that all year. :ohhh:

Y’all earned 90k+ 2021?

Of course they didn't. My baby brother works for the postal service and makes a little under than in the poorest county in NC. My father gave him and my middle brother his old house and he's stacking after I set him down and showed him how to invest over half his income. Dude will be retired before he hits 35 if he chooses to do so. I don't think their combined expenses between the both of them amount to more than $1k a month. The most expensive thing my baby brother owns is a gaming chair. I clown him, but that MFing chair is souped to the gills. It reclines, has a food rest, has speakers built in, a tray to hold his food and drinks, and has a heated massage setting. I'm was like, "Really bruh?" when I first saw it.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Teach in a blue state.

Boston pays an average of $100k a year for teachers. $60k+ starting salary. 3% raise a year is almost guaranteed because of the strong teachers union. Hit $120k easily on the salary scale easily after professional development. Top out at $160k if you’re really motivated with professional development. Do a few clubs and coach a few sports (this part is competitive) and next thing you know you’re up there in the near $200k range.

Work 9 months out of the year. That’s it. 70 days off during the summer. Every major holiday off.

After busting your ass for 3 years you get tenured. Which means you’re not getting fired unless you really really really fukk up.

After the 3 years you’re on cruise control. Recycle learning content. Have everything electronically graded. Retire at 56 with 80% pension. Now you’re getting 6 figures for the rest of your life.

Boston isn’t even the highest paying district in Massachusetts either. You could also teach in one of the suburbs where the average salary is around $80k.

For those that don’t believe me:
Here are the 100 Massachusetts school districts that pay the highest

those numbers are from 2018 too. So they’ve gone up since. I have multiple cousins who teach in Boston and one that just retired.

Nikkas are too cool to take advantage of this. Big booty hoes in ATL with lower pay Is better.

Sarcasm.

A lot of jobs that arrogant people might shyt on like mail carrier or sanitation worker actually can pay really good and be stable careers. Especially certain union jobs.

Sounds like he’s flipping surplus money into real estate. Good for him, think of passive and future incomes because mail carrying isn’t sustainable for 20+ years physically. And today’s 90k is 2016’s 60k :francis:

Idk anyone that shyts on a sanitation worker but then again I live in a blue state. Sanitation workers are the main city job filled with whites and that says a lot. They get paid out the ass and everyone at least in my city knows this.

It’s his life. If he’s ok with it then I’m ok with it. Also it goes to show you that some people choose to make good money and others don’t. In life you will always be at a point where you have to be occupied to get that bag. I’m sure all the hardworking people on here had a point in their life where they chasing more money than they could enjoy. But I do hope his investment pays off
