The commentary and presentation on this game still beats Madden.
The presentation in that game was the first to make you feel like it was a real NFL game on tv. The real like halftime show and post game, and the wrap-up coverage

Gameday and QB Club was probably the best NFL games in the late 90's.
NFL Quarterback Club had Steve Young one year and i think the others didnt have an athlete on the cover. Iverson was the most popular NBA player at the time so its not like Sega went out on a limb to choose him.
Exactly who are these safe cookie cutter negroes you referring to? Terrell Davis? NBA Shootout had Chris Webber, Marbury, Ray Allen, McGrady, and Olajuwon on the cover.
don't forget those Legendary soundtracks.. and playing table hockey after a game.. 2k were gods back then

Quietly, virtual tennis on dreamcast was that shyt too though ...used to run $5 a match battles in that shyt, Carlos Moya used to give boys the blues
It's probably one of the most underrated marketing ideas of all time.
2K went against the grain during a time when it was all about getting the cookie cutter clean safe negro athlete(RG3).
Putting the two lovable bad boys who was both urban and pop icons of that time. Ended up being a genius idea for a company just breaking into the industry.
I'm not ready to let it go breh.........

I remember I had Memory Card File put into controller when you play NFL 2K, you pick the plays on the Memory Card File screen instead of on tv screen where your boy couldn't see you pick the plays
