yeah, I'm not defending Jeff Pearlman, but he said absolutely none of this that's being reported. The whole "2pac couldn't fight, was feminine, etc...". He actually DEFENDED 2pac in the book with his words. He said, people would look at the video of him at 17 and question his heterosexuality and that wouldn't be fair. Everything stated in the book is by people that knew him at the time and they are quoted. Instead of writing the book in the form of Louder than Hell or The Come Up, by using the interview form in each chapter, he just types the words out of the interviewees and expound on them. As much as I am not a fan of white folks, he actually never made any of the statements himself, these are all quotes and he adds his commentary around the quotes

yeah that's terrible because I actually knew people like that in school. I just never teased them about it because you never knew what a person was going through at home. If the Pac fans don't want to read this one, they can always just read the Staci Robinson book. A lot of the information is shared, and he actually quotes her work in this as well (unlike Manning Marble that plagiarized works from Evanzz and Kondo for his bullshyt Malcolm X book without giving credit and added the gay shyt in there).I’m only up to Baltimore, and my main takeaway is that I just feel sorry for Pac.
The fact that his classmates first impression of Pac was that he smelled bad and had fukked up teeth, genuinely made me feel emotional. He was really living like Dukie from The Wire. We’re not reading about 2Pac, the superstar, no, this is just about a gifted, yet seriously emotionally neglected and abused child.
And to top it off, the instant he starts to find some friends and acceptance at the art school, he feels confident enough to bring friends over to meet his hero…only for them open the front door, and see her smoking crack and cuss them out.
In one of the footnotes, it‘s mentioned that his sister (finally) started going to therapy considering the life she’s had, and the first thing that she told her therapist was that they had rats.

2pac was rapping way before 17 as MC New York. He was always conscience but trauma and circumstance can bring out changes in a person. Never once have we heard of Pac being soft or gay with someone. He was through and through a mama's boy and became a man. If he was a sissy fakkit best believe word would have been out

yeah, but technically, HE hasn't said anything. It's a journalistic presentation. Everything stated is quoted from other people that knew him. Your beef is with the people that knew him. He never said 2pac wore nail polish, these were his high school friends saying this. He's reporting what was told to him
. And I hate to be the voice of reason for a crakkka, but that's how research works when you do it the right way to avoid lawsuits. The crazy part is after quoting someone that said Pac was kissing fakkits on the lips, or that he was wearing eye shadow and fingernail polish, sentences later he actually defended him. Now are those people lying? I don't know, but this is why you should read something for yourself instead of making comments off cliff notes.I've always said that if you want to try and find the truth, you read an autobiography AND biographies about the subject. Compare the stories and within all of that, you can somewhat form a truth out of it. I'm not here to badmouth 2pac and I'm not here to be his defender, but I will tell you this, I know I've bought more 2pac albums than all of his fans in this thread dating back to 2pacalyspe Now. Physical shyt from 30+ years back. So if I'm "hating" and most of you in this thread don't even respect the man or his legacy to buy his albums, then what are most of you doing?
