To put this into context.

During the 2008 -2009 recession the worst job loss month we had was 800,000 we just quadrupled that.

The upcoming job losses will be unlike anything the US has ever seen

We also have just lost more jobs in one month than we did in the entire year of 2008.

Total 2008 job loss: 2.6 million - Jan. 9, 2009

In this is just for ONE WEEK not an entire month. :francis:

The difference is tho people were out trying to find jobs then now they aren’t allowed to

:dwillhuh::gucci:What is with this “fear mongering” buzzword?

A new virus comes out that spreads like wildfire and leaves people without symptoms for days on end but enables its spread in the meantime is out there, so whomever got sick last week is visiting the hospital this week, then the people they got suck are going in next week, and so on. Are you at all listening to the health professionals or are you one of those dudes saying “media” as if this is nightly news anchors causing all of this?

I really am not understanding how many weeks we are into this and you really on that “fear mongering” slant.

But these numbers will change when most go back to work after Easter .

If they go back to work. Not everyone will just go back to work, probably half. Most businesses won’t have the same amount of monthly revenue that they had before the crisis. which means they won’t have enough revenue to pay all of their fired employees immediately

Too long winded. Hospitals can be big or small, workers have shifts that need to be covered. Capacities are based off fire codes. The problem is articles are saying it's packed but not saying where.

There isn't much coverage of hospitals across the country being shutdown before the crisis. So that could be a reason why it's packed bc a lot of them closed is extremely valid.
Too long winded:snoop:Maaaaan, in any case, you take a system that went for-profit a few decades ago and slim down available hospital beds and of course global health crises would bring it to its knees In densely populated areas. The problem is to ensure it doesnt spread more, things not coronavirus related are being put on hold, fam. There is a reason people have to get worse and call ahead before going....they already full. Protective gear shortages...this is not something to be downplayed.

Like what’s jobs won’t come back?

The revenue just won’t be there to bring everybody all back at once in an industry. Companies budgets are going to be decimated because of the lack of revenue that was lost and that stimulus won’t make up all of it.

The entertainment industry will suffer for a while mainly because people won’t have the disposable income right away and artist and other entertainers won’t be able to reschedule all at the same time for certain venues which will mean less people that’s needed right away.

Also don’t forget, a lot of the budget movies likely aren’t coming out this year so that’s less revenue for the entertainment industry and their workers.

This. Its a wrap for a lot of businesses cause even when they open up, people wont trust being out in public or wont have the money to go back to business as usual. 2020 is a dub for a lot of businesses and we only in the first quarter.

They estimate to be short 100k beds soon.

They will start to turn people away and they will die at home just like what’s happening in Italy.
