40? whats the age cap??This has been a thing for awhile. When I joined back in 2010 it was because of the recession, I was 23 and there were 30 AND 40 year olds signing up right beside me.
My homie at 39 decided to join the reserves. Dude is in phenomenal health, he's just in a transition period in his life and something like the military can help with that.
I'm all for this. There really shouldn't be a "young" age limit on the military. I can see and know people up to 55 being value added being in the military. You don't always have to be an infantryman. Bringing civilian skills to the military can also be a benefit, so why not...
Personally, I regret not joining the military.

40? whats the age cap??
wowwwOfficially its like 35 but you can get a waiver to join up to 43 if i’m not mistaken and the Army at least usually grants it
They actually extended to age limit a few years ago
There IS a reason for the age limit as a lot of physical exertion is required. A 55 year old just joining would have Hell in basic training just due to the physicality of it all. Unless they decide to Officer’s Academy
I'm not saying there shouldn't be physical and health standards. I think they should be there for the police. But there's plenty of people over 40 that can pass a basic military PT test. They upped it to 42 a few years back
