ATCQ all the way. not only are they my fav rap group of all time, but their run dmc's rhymes sound elementary in comparision to q-tip and phife.
run dmc had better lyrics than tribe.

sorry, but I cannot agree with that.
and I dont' know ANYONE would would agree that rev run was a better rapper than q-tip EVER.
q-tip can still spit to this day, and rev run is laughable if he were to drop a solo album in 2014.
tribe's strong point was making good music. lets not pretend that they were some top-tier emcees. phife spit his fair share of fire tho, but he never spit that chit like DMC.
q-tip is laughable trying to drop a solo album now himself. hell, that chit was laughable back in '99.
and didnt he have a ghostwriter by album 4, if not earlier?and q-tip barely ever had bars. rarely did he say anything rewind-worthy. your best bet is to put your money behind phife.
tribe was basic all-around on the mic. the whole "old school rappers are elementary" thing doesnt work in tribe's favor, because theyre even more elementary than most '80s groups. not just the bars, but the flows. run dmc was flippin styles as old rappers, meanwhile tribe is still stuck on the same flow that pre-dated their careers.
when did tribe ever flip styles like this?

How you make a thread and get mad when ppl vote the way they do. These threads are influenced by who you listened to WHILE they were hot and WHILE you were in your formative years. I can go back to run DMC and appreciate what they did, but it will never have the impact of me turning on the radio and hearing check the rhyme or watching mtv and seeing the award tour video for the first time. Plus, I truly don't see how you can say with a straight face that run DMC had better lyrics, objectively lyricism and flow advanced so much from their debut in 84 (based on a flow honed much earlier) to the rappers debuting or just starting to spit in 89-92
