I respect what Run-DMC did to pave the way. I personally go with Tribe because it was in my era. Don't hate everyone's opinion because it's not yours. A poll is there for a reason.

How you make a thread and get mad when ppl vote the way they do. These threads are influenced by who you listened to WHILE they were hot and WHILE you were in your formative years. I can go back to run DMC and appreciate what they did, but it will never have the impact of me turning on the radio and hearing check the rhyme or watching mtv and seeing the award tour video for the first time. Plus, I truly don't see how you can say with a straight face that run DMC had better lyrics, objectively lyricism and flow advanced so much from their debut in 84 (based on a flow honed much earlier) to the rappers debuting or just starting to spit in 89-92

im not talking about the preference. im talking about the complete disregard for legends. dudes str8 saying they never heard a run dmc album and are proud of it. and then you got the "elementary" card being pulled despite the fact that tribe was pre-school with it.

and if you remember "check the rhyme" & "award tour", i dont see how you cant remember "down with the king", which was a much bigger & hotter record than those, and run dmc dropped that when they were old school, so what does that tell you about their prime, even if you missed it?

you dont see how i can say with a str8 face that run dmc had better lyrics & flow? we gonna act like i didnt post examples? wheres these examples that can be posted in tribe's favor? they dont exist.

and run dmc didnt stay stuck on their '83 flow. again, something i posted examples of earlier. their flows were more updated than tribe's during tribe's run.

and this isnt just a poll. a thread was made to generate discussion and debate. its none of that going on in this thread because people are voting tribe just off GP and running out of the thread because they know theyre full of chit.

listen man. tribe is great but they couldnt wipe run dmc's ass.

run dmc has 2 albums that are better than tribe's best. not to mention that they top tribe in practically every category imaginable.
