so maybe I’m not a tech guy but wouldn’t the ps5 still work and use whatever resolution or whatever off that monitor? Or it’s best for me to buy a cheaper 1080? Any suggestions on good monitors that ain’t that big like 27-35 inch?
If it doesn’t support the monitor/TV's resolution, the console or the display has to scale the picture up or down, which can introduce lag.

Any suggestions for a good gaming monitor?

To maximize the PS5 you'll definitely want a 10 bit HDR 4K monitor with minimal input lag and 120hz refresh rate minimum. Any monitor that checks these boxes with minimal backlight bleed will do the trick, newegg has quite a few monitors that fit this criteria

You’d want a 1080p monitor with all the latest bells and whistles and high frame rate.

I think you need to go to YouTube and do some research before going out there and spending money bro. You can learn about what you need in 20mins. Research monitors, difference between hdmi 2.0 and 2.1, display ports, etc.

You linked another 1440p monitor. PS5 doesn’t support 1440p, you will end up paying for 1440p but playing in 1080p resolution at 120hz.

The other monitor you linked.. why buy a 4k monitor for 400 bucks that can only do 60hz? You can buy a tv for that?

my bad breh! Just not use to doing these researches for specs on shyt. Didn’t even know it can cause lag for bogging it down to a 1080.

It’s not your fault. You have to be careful when buying monitors. They may say Xresolution at xhrz but only through display port. And it’s mind boggling how Sony doesn’t support 1440.

And people are impulse buying just because they have next gen consoles. :snoop:

wait so you're saying keep my current 1080 monitor and don't even worry about getting a 4k monitor, at any point?

cause I was researching 4k HDMI 2.1 monitors to buy one next year. I play MLB the show, 2k, street fighter, and getting into COD so.....just hold up for a while?
