same here, and it also depends on how many drinks I had and how quick they come. Unless the place is high class with extremely high class service. but a basic restaurant, around $5

either way, i agree tipping is a scam; but i still catch myself over-tipping to at least temporarily break their stereotype. i like the european model much better. you may pay more for food but everything is included in the tab, and they don't have their hands out expecting a tip.

This ain't the 90s where people simply can get a better job. All the good paying jobs are outsourced by being sent overseas or outdone by technology. For some, going to school isn't enough these days, not even IT work.

Seems like some people are ignoring the perks of tipping at places that you frequent. A couple years ago me and some co workers used to go to a local brewery every Friday after work we'd order food drink and tip generously. It got the point where they'd reserve room for us without us asking. It wasn't uncommon for us to get free food and drinks as well.

If it's a place you go to often and they're doing a good job. Do yourself a favor and tip. Yeah you're paying them to do their jobs but that could be said about plenty of other things we pay for. Yes the euro way is better, but this is what we're dealing with. If I have to add an incentive to get seated sooner and not get my food tampered with, and generally have a better experience than it is what it is.
