Yeah, the label will push the rappers, but what I'm saying is, it was the fans who dictated what was rapped about, and ultimately what type of rapper would get signed. Over time it became the norm, and the labels just became masters of promoting it. You have to remember all of this took at least 10 years, it wasn't an overnight thing.I can't really blame the fans. I think it has to do with the business deciding that fantasy floss rap was gonna be the standard. People are sheep. They'll go along with whatever the label says.
