I don't mind Gunther at all but taking the title of Jey closes off a couple of stories; Logan Paul taking the title off of him by dastardly means or Sami cashing in/betraying Jey (Seth Rollins winning MITB kind of put ice water on that smh).
If he was only going to have Jey as champion for two months he may as well have just left the title on Gunther in the first place and have Jey win it at SummerSlam or something. Why interrupt Gunther's reign for this aborted BS? Hell it was actually starting to heat up a bit.

Well, I guess we just have to "let it play out."

Also I get that the group is over but I'm just not feeling the Seth Riders at all. Like we have another former Shield member led group with vaguely defined goals carrying a briefcase? They don't have any chemistry either. That Seth/Buddy Murphy pairing was more natural than this shyt. They should have kept that Solo/Jacob/JC Mateo trio around a bit longer.

The WWE is in the business of making moments more than anything, and they had been fukking around with pulling the trigger on Jey Uso for a long time. While a face champion is more so defined by the kind of champion they are after winning it in my opinion, it seems clear the WWE looks at it the complete opposite.

For the WWE, the reign itself matters for the heels. The victory is the main thing for faces not named Cody Rhodes.

The fans got what they wanted: Jey Uso triumphs at Mania. It's a "Here nikka, damn" so they can get back to doing what they want to do until the fans ask for more bread.

I also think Logan Paul might already be champion by now if he was willing to do a more regular schedule.

I don't care for Seth's new group either. I don't see the point of it as it keeps talking about the future when he is going to impede the rise of said future by using it to ensure he stays champion once he wins it. Also, Seth should only cash in on the Undisputed WWE Championship.

I wish that Heyman had taken it upon himself to recreate a Dangerous Alliance with him as its leader, which would primarily exist as his mechanism for vengeance and dominance against those who either harmed or betrayed him.

I see what you mean.

But these fans who attend today feel compelled, almost entitled (depending on where you stand) to be part of the show. Jey Uso's existence (entrance) makes them part of the show. Unless that changes, he'll be aight. End of the day, he had his run. Called him Main Event Jey for years, he became World and IC champion and justified it.

Personally, I'm just glad Seth isn't champion.

Nikki just seems so out of place now. Even the promo package about the Divas title, just hearing that title name again was funny to me. Then having Iyo say she paved the way for her, that's some revisionist history there. Think AJ lit the fire a bit going at the Divas, then it was takeoff with the 4 horsewomen.

To me, Nikki and AJ were the same level of wrestler.
AJ just had the character everyone liked.

I think the group would hit different if Roman was around.
Right now, the only people they can really beef with is Sami and Punk, and Punk is now occupied with Cena.
Maybe they should just try to make Gunther a face and have him beef with them too.
Maybe get help from Ludwig.
He already has a lot of fans that are happy he’s champ again, so maybe it will translate.

And he won his KOTR match. Saudi shows are basically Sami Zayn showcases at this point. Very obvious where this goes

Seth isn't cashing in on Sami, he's cashing in on Cody when he regains the belt.

Part of this whole story is Seth showing how much of a hypocrite he is and going against everything he once stood for (he doesn't stand for anything).

Remember when Seth trashed the WWE title? Calling it the "Hollywood" title and not the real title? Well Seth going Hollywood.

All to eventually sell his soul to The Final Boss...
