Contrary to popular belief, most people live check to check or damn close to it. This includes a significant portion of people who make 6 figures or close to it. Ask anyone who has experience in personal finance.
On a side note, more and more people leave money that would have gone into a savings account, into various investment accounts instead. This is part of the reason as well. People invest their money more than ever now which means less and less leave it sitting in savings accruing practically nothing.
my boss make 6 figures + monthly bonuses and lives check to check :francis:

This is true. I'd be curious to see, of those people who have less than $1000 in a traditional savings account, how many have money in investment accounts.

Maybe they only have $1000 in a savings account, but $1000+ in an investment account?

I think they need to repeat this study.

I knew none of my coli brehs was in that 58% of society. All my dudes on here caked out.
Having over $1000 in savings is far from caked out. If you live below your means and buckle down it's not that difficult to get $1000 saved up unless you're working a really low level job like fast food or retail.

Even if that's the case people could start selling stuff around the house. Nobody should be living without at least $1000 in savings. That's barely an emergency fund. Ideally you'd want to have 6 months to a year's worth of living expenses in savings.

Real talk if something happens to you and you don't have at least $1000 in the bank you're probably fukked.

With the average person living paycheck to paycheck and making 35K, I doubt most are investing.

People are hurting out here.
I been telling people I know for awhile if the people at the top of the economic ladder keep putting they foots on everyone neck like they have over the last 40 years with the brief exception of the .com boom where it seemed like everyone was eating shyt is going to turn violent soon in this country.
