"Well maybe he lives at his mama's house and his car got repo'd so he pawned his tvs to get money. Now having no entertainment, he goes to a block party and decides to shoot it up. By "different" he means the other millions of blacks who abide by the law, work for a living, have our children in wedlock, pay our bills on time and hold ourselves responsible for our own fuk ups as well as successes because we do understand that the blacks before us made sacrifices so that we wouldn't have to.

To the "other side"of the black community, we're "sell outs" to "white supremacy" who could never understand hence the ideological divide in this thread.

when you control the settings and the conditions of/for a people you can get them to do pretty much anything you want. this is a residual effect of being under these people(it's both mental and physical). the guns that got flooded in our neighborhoods is an example. crack is another. now mix that with all the other unmentioned shyt. we know a pale hand created that atmosphere. this shyt is by design. of course people should still face severe punishment for shyt like this. but I think that punishment should be served out by members of said community. on some village type shyt.

I understand that and I'm not trying to downplay or discount the challenges that some of us face, but I still believe we're too comfortable with blaming white people for our actions. With education and all the information we have access too, we understand that there are traps set in place to get us caught up. But if you know the traps are there and you still allow yourself to get caught up, at that point, you can miss me with blaming the people setting the traps.

Why won't it change?

Just a feeling akh. I want things to change, I want younger kids to know that life is beautiful...there is more to life than just what you see in your hood. i've tried with all my might to help kids do better...i gave kids jobs, i gave them jewels, i took kids to other neighborhoods that amassed wealth, told them to leave that street shyt alone...unfortunately these kids had to return back to the environment that made them forget all i tried to put them on about. i still help as much as i can but it's tough my man, it's tough.

in this article you will read about a kid who killed another young black kid...the kid who killed, i gave him his first job...coached him about what life will offer him if he got his shyt together...he did good for a while and then i had to move on with life and wasn't actively around to make sure he wasn't gang banging and running around carrying guns...it broke my heart when i found out what he did...i didn't sleep man. If you read what he killed the kid for is some silly shyt...I want things to change...i just don't know what it will take. props to those who continue to educate and help kids elevate.

I listen to my
Local talk stations and surbanites love to call in talkin bout what we need to do in the city and this and that about the city. But those people are only coming to the city for sporting event and the going right back to the burbs. It's very easy to speak on the negative cause that's all people see from the outside looking in. A lot of people who move from the hood to the burbs tend to get their nose in the air when talking about the folks still there. My opinion is that people need to worry about their area unless they are truly trying to do something besides talking and criticizing.

this is why there's such a disconnect, Black people who have never had to live in these types of circumstances are too dismissive of what's really going on, "it's ignorance", "they know right from wrong" and whatever else they can think of from their high horses.

Just two weeks ago I had to sit a 15 year old down and explain to him why kicking in doors is wrong, that shyt was so frustrating that I wanted to cry because in spite of me making valid points about why it's wrong, when he needs money and his homies proposition him to go kick a door, he's going to do it.

The same young man I mentioned in this post was killed by the police last night after robbing a Walgreens.
