Conversations we need to REALLY talk about that will never happen is America's imperialism, racism and greed.
When someone brings up Russian election interference and I then bring up the MANY elections America has tampered with and how many world leaders they have killed people REALLY don't want to hear it.
When people want to talk about how racist, xenophobic and sexist Trump is and I bring up how America has been like that always people REALLY don't want to hear it.
When a co-worker brings donuts, candy or muffins to work and offer me some and my 'Na, I'm good.' Doesn't suffice and I then go into American consumption habits. People get real quiet which is a sign, they REALLY don't want to hear it.

'Discussions society needs to have" usually centers stuff like "black on black crime", Islam, and immgrants. It's like some people don't realize where their 2 cents is not relevant and where it is relevant. I was listening to the LeBatard show and they were talking about some statement that dude Russilo said about the hiring of some person and he remarked that as a white male he feels like he cannot give his opinion. Only problem is he doesn't reallize that maybe his opinion is not relevant at all to that discussion, people want to opine about communities they are not part of based on stereotypical beliefs. In addition look at some of these views from that survey , of course you would be hard pressed to have some intellectual discussion about these issues.
