:what: I'm a Lakers fan that has lived through 5 championship parades in 14 seasons. I have no reason to be jealous of a team whose biggest accomplishment in the last 25 years is getting 1 win from the 2001 Lakers.

The Lakers are in way better position than you. We're also in the running for a high lottery pick not because we intentionally are trying to lose but because we got hit with the injury bug (ala the 97 Spurs). We already have a proven superstar in place, a load of cap space, and this high first round pick. Unlike your cap space, our cap space has value cause actual superstars wanna play here. The Lakers could end up getting Melo this year, Love next year, have a top 5 pick, and Kobe's contract coming off the book in 2016 to sign another superstar.

Now that is whats called being in a GREAT rebuilding position. Not the lets trade everyone for second round picks and hope we can hit on em.

Wait lakers in a better position than Sixers old washed up useless ass Kobe who is taking about 25 million off the cap. Who the hell is on the Lakers breh?????

Who is going to trade players for restricted FAs that you refuse to pay? Use some damn common sense man.

Um let me see didn't you clowns just trade those players that you refused to pay or am I just delusional or are Turner and Hawes still on the Sixers. All I'm saying is if you didn't wanna resign them you should of had some trade ideas in mind before the trade deadline that would of yielded you more than a 2nd round draft pick.

99.9% of people thought the suns roster was lottery bound before the season so stop tryna pretend like you knew they had something. They could of easily told Horn to stop coaching and tank like Philly has done but they didn't. When you instill a losing culture it doesn't go away overnight and thats whats gonna happen to Philly there gonna be so bad for so long that it becomes acceptable.

I see that you ignored my post about using common sense. Answer the question; how are you gonna trade Turner and Hawes once you ain't gonna pay them?

The Sixers were like Phoenix for the last five years. A decent team with a bunch of good players but no stars. They won one playoff round, which is about as well as I expect the Suns to do.

Nobody was giving up anything for Turner or Hawes, why is this so hard for you to understand? Blake is going to be getting the vet minimum or maybe a 2 year $6 million deal, where as Hawes and Turner are going to want market value for their production and age.

The Lakers are doing it the right way? Word, so the Suns getting their first rounder next year is the right way? You're basically strengthening the roster of a division rival, that looks to be on the upswing, that is the right way to you? Having a gang of NBDL level players and two 30+ year olds one of which is has 2 years and half your capspace is the right way?

And what if the Lakers are the ones that end up with Randle, then what?

When we made that deal, no one thought Nash would fall apart. No one thought Kobe would tear his achilles. At the time, I thought we got a great deal. Nash was just coming off a year where he still put up great numbers and all we gave up were draft picks that most likely woulda been late 1s. Who thought the Lakers would have the worst record in the West this year? considering that they had Dwight, Kobe, Nash, and Pau last year?

The Lakers don't need a superstar in this draft. Unlike small market teams that can really only become contenders by hitting home runs in the draft, we can build through free agency as well. LA will always be a prime destination and the Lakers brand will always be strong. We'll be in good position to get Melo this summer, Love next summer (though I personally don't want him), and then Kobe comes off the books in 2016 (around the time Durant becomes a free agent).

No matter what the Lakers will ALWAYS have a bright future. And our $3 billion TV deal means we can afford to continually pay the luxury tax to keep our roster together unlike small market teams like OKC.

They've been shopping Turner for over a year and a half for a first round pick. Nothing. Nobody was biting because everybody knows Turner and Hawes are average players at best who gonna be overpaid on the market very soon due to their ages. You probably don't know that because you don't follow the team day in and day out. We do.

So what's your alternative to building a contender? Y'know, if you're so averse to using the cheapest, most efficient way of finding talent in the NBA.

do it the way everyone else does. build the best team you can each year. compete. and realize this is tough and requires luck.

you can't come into a sport that has been around for over 60 years and think you can figure out in one season what many other smart people haven't figured out in that time.

there is no quick fix to turning a bottom feeder like Philly into a contender overnight.

Okay Clown let me see trade Turner and Hawes to the Cavs for Waiters, Zeller and Gee. You get Waiter who has talent and wants to be in Philly an Zeller who still has potential but Cleveland wasn't using him right. Gee hasn't been doing shyt but his contract offsets some of Turners salary to make the trade work.

Kent Bazemore and Marshon Brooks dogg! THey and Robert Sacre gonna lead the Lakers back into prominence!

We don't want Dion Waiters. He's a bum who thinks he's a star. Try again.

Kent Bazemore and Marshon Brooks suck. Bazemore's most important contribution in the NBA is waving a towel, and there are nikkas on the Coli that play better defense than Marshon Brooks. PLus 36 year old Kobe coming off knee surgery has clogged up the cap for LA for the next 3 seasons. The Lakers are a clusterfukk. Anybody who thinks the Lakers have a brighter future than the Sixers doesn't deserve to talk about basketball with people.

:what: we're the Lakers

the name alone means we'll have a better future

we've played in nearly HALF of all the NBA finals there have ever been. just think about that. the NBA has been going for over 60 years and about 30 of em have featured the Lakers.

men lie, women lie, numbers don't.
