What are the “moves” in a free agent cycle or two to complete it?

The two best players on the team are also at their peaks. It’s not like Brunson and KAT are 22 year old kids.
Using the MLE to get better bench producers.

Tbh, if not for that phantom no call in game 4 saving the Knicks from a 2-2 tie… I was gonna say this series reminds me of Cavs/Pistons 2007, but with DET in the underdog role. With how they just responded last night, it definitely still does.

Similar weird energy to the 07 series, where we kept expecting the higher seed with more veteran “name” players to assert their will… only to slowly realize that the underdog team has better synergy.

And yea sometimes less is more, in that if you have more than 2 stars… the left overs are in danger of being glorified cornermen if the offense/coaching ain’t on point.

And thus for example Tobias doesn’t have to be a better player than Mikal for DET to win, he just has to be a comparable corner man. If Brunson gonna dribble dribble, making all the other Knick stars into cornermen, then DET’s talent disadvantage is negligible.

They need a “big” move to get past Boston. Theres problem is they made their big moves already. Traded for OG, KAT, Bridges. It’s just not good enough.

Random bench guys ain’t changing this. Leon went all in and this is his team.
How long will Boston be Boston? Next years team won’t be as good as the team that won the championship. You just have to make sure your team stays on the incline while they inevitably decline.

Towns works best as a C but his rim protection is so damn poor I don't think you can have a championship level defense with him there.

The Bridges thing has been a disaster. They got him and OG to lock up opposing wings(read: Boston) and Cade's done whatever he's wanted to out on the court.

They've built a team that is good but not world class and I don't think there's a fix.

If Stewart was healthy you're definitely not good enough to sweep Detroit....you're barely good enough to beat them at all at 100%. And going by the score, that goes both ways with the games as they've been played.
Outside of Cade, the pistons don’t have a player that would crack the Knicks starting lineup. Stewart is an 7th or 8th man in this team. Talent wise, this Knicks team has no business being in this series. This team isn’t used properly at all.

That's because quiet as kept (except to Nets fans who told everyone this) Bridges' defense fell off compared to how it was in Phoenix.

And that’s supposed to get them past Boston or the Cavs?
You would’ve said the same thing about the Cavs after last season that there’s no way they could compete with the Celtics this year. Literally nobody had the Cavs as some great team coming into the season. They were a 48 win team the year before, made no major moves to the roster, just improvements on the margins and a better head coach and now they’re right there as a top contender.

Going from good team to real contender doesn’t always require some major roster change. Improving the weak spots and better coaching gets the Knicks in contention. That’s just easier said than done because building rosters is not simple as adding names. And coaching has to mesh too. I don’t think anyone is saying this is a simple fix. We’re saying it doesn’t require some impossible trade of a big name.

My guy, you sound delusional with this one. What gives you the idea that they should sweep this team? Nothing during the regular season or any of these games really supports that idea. I know a bunch of y'all keep talking about all the better players the Knicks got and yada yada, but just loading a team up with better players doesn't automatically make them a better team. Cohesiveness, team chemistry, fukking heart, all that shyt matters.

And then there's the other side of the court that most people ignore when talking about team makeup. Pistons been a top 5 defensive team since January. What they lack in offensive talent is countered with some dog ass defense to make it a tough night for damn near any team. The sum is always greater than its parts with good home grown and developed teams. And I'm not saying y'all not good enough to win the series, but a sweep? C'mon dog, that just shows you don't realize the type of team you facing. That was never in the cards. And who da fukk am I kidding, I AM saying y'all not good enough to win the series, PISTONS IN 7 KNICKAS:martin:
I’m just talking about talent. We can all agree that this team is much better than they look? No? I swear I’m not taking anything away from Detroit. But a scrappy young team that’s just gotten there shouldn’t take a vet Knicks team with 2 top 15 players to the limit. We should be better than this. We should have been better than this all season.

So explain the series? Why have you needed a GOAT game from Kat and have been behind in the fourth in every game? Why have you needed crazy runs to catch up repeatedly?

You know pistons fans heard this shyt in 03-06 right?
