nah, he was antagonizing the couple:

Here is how escalation works:
  • Ask them to go home. Its a fukking park. He wasn't giving them a pass. A "pass" is not asking them to leave and him just leaving. He didn't even do that.
  • Threaten with citation IF they don't go home AND INFORM THEM THAT SIGNING CITATION IS NOT ADMISSION OF GUILT
  • Then arrest if no further compliance.
This bum ass cop skipped all the way to step three.

as far as i know, he does not have to ask them to go home. and he does not have to threaten a citation before issuing one.

he gave them a choice, and she chose to get arrested.

whether you or i think it was worth a citation/arrest, or think there was an ulterior motive, doesn't really matter. he made it crystal clear she wasn't about to win that argument. at that point, if you don't want to get arrested, take the fine and keep it pushing.

again, the cop was in the wrong until she "resisted" arrest.

Dude shut your dumb a$$ up.

By LAW, parks are supposed to have clearly posted signs notifying the public of the hours of the park. If the couple drove into that park in a car, they seen those signs when coming in. If they missed the signs coming in, thats on them. The cop can actually go in either direction at that point..

A conversation about why black people petition other blacks to take political/position of power can be had here though. Because this brother should've gave them a pass, and broke down why there is a curfew in the 1st place.. I get all that. But when plan A don't work, then you are required to educate the people of the plan B. Everyone isn't going to be able to fight cops for petty shyt and come up in a law suit. You sending people off now.

This isn't some "law"

its a basic city ordinance.

The cop did not follow escalatory protocol.

Yeah, he kinda does. Unless he's a dikkhead driven by his monthly quota to drive arrests and citations.

Yall keep wanting to focus on her apparent obstruction, not the fact that the cop played himself.

She was being a bytch but this is police brutality. Once she said she was going to sign the ticket there was no need for further escalation but he was deadset on making her "pay" her previous refusal.

Plus it should be properly explained to the contravener that signing the ticket is not an admission of guilt and it can be disputed later. That might have encouraged her to sign it the first time.

She still broke the law though. And you can only hold the cop accountable by going through the proper channels. Which includes going to court. You know im burying you right now? I see why your post count high.

It wasn't a law. It was a minor ordinance.

Trump isn't the only one who loves the uneducated. :sas1:

"Laws are rules and regulations passed by the legislature and are meant to protect and control people in different circumstances. Ordinances in most countries are local level laws passed by municipalities and are applicable within the city limits only. In some cases, they supersede central laws too"..

Why you deceiving the people?

All you’re offering is your opinion about what you think should have happened. But clearly he was the dikkhead who decided to meet quota, so then what? You’re not entitled to a pass because you don’t agree with the process.

If you don’t mind getting cuffed for the sake of arguing your point cool. But if you don’t want to get cuffed you sign the citation.

I got a citation for spitting onto the subway tracks one time. Not on the platform, or a seat. The rat-infested subway tracks. Trust me, I’m aware of the bullshyt citation quotas. I took that shyt to court and got it tossed. They hand out those citations in-part assuming most people WONT fight them.

You can state your opinion as many times as you want. It won’t change the fact that she chose the option that resulted in arrest. Again, I personally don’t like how the arrest was handled. But that’s a separate convo.
