Here comes the TLR GED brigade shytting on higher education.....The easiest and most consistent path to middle class stability and building of generational wealth even with the cost.

Coincidentally, the most educated groups in this country (Jews and Indians) have the highest income and wealth levels.

But is that an excuse to keep tuition prices high? Here has to be a major course correction, and that, I mean these instutions needing a whole financial collapse to LOWER TUITION PRICING!

If You are not for lowering tuition pricing at this point, then you are part of the problem.

I’m STEM and this is correct. Which is why I didn’t want to go to grad school. Unless you plan on being a doctor there’s really not much you can do that will pay a lot. And sometimes they want a special cert or license. You can probably find a comfy lab job running samples but having to deal with the good ole boys to get promoted is taxing. I have too many stories

But the Coli, said that all STEM majors are debt-free and making 200k per year.

The Land That Time Forgot
It’s a confusing time to be a man. Especially if you grew up being indoctrinated by social media and entertainment. When my generation was growing up there was so much focus on girls/women’s development and negative messaging around masculinity that I think younger guys have absorbed that into their subconscious. So they’re having a hard time with coping with reality and society’s mixed messaging.

And the easiest thing is to quit/retreat. If women are leaning in, men are leaning out.

Very good take.

College has become to expensive. You are better off with a learned trade in most circumstances like HVAC tech or electrician and there is no rule that you have to stay at one. Get multiple trade certifications.
People say this like trade school isn’t expensive. There ain’t no “most circumstances” about it. Most people aren’t built to work a trade. Let people do what they want and make it affordable. Simple as that. Makes more sense than trying to push people into professions they have no passion for and won’t be good at. Some things will pay more than others, oh well. Let people make that choice too.

FYI, in most places in America, the top 20 percent highest earning people are college educated.

It's too expensive and it's too bloated. Perfectly designed to weed out the undesirables and it's a fool proof component of the debt cycle.

It's all so intertwined together with every other ill of this country you'd almost think it was purposefully orchestrated that way :lolbron:

You do realize it takes 4 years to become a licensed Electrician, Plumber, or Welder in the state of Texas right. Pretty sure HVAC techs take close to around the same time. It isn't as simple as learning a craft and then picking up a new one.

I remember :mjcry:
Now I will say that I can easily find a job and I guess that’s important. Don’t get me wrong I’m definitely comfortable but because I basically got one foot out of my field I have my degree in.
Where? Quote it.

STEM degrees have definitely been oversold as one of the only “worth it” degrees. Might not be just on the coli but definitely in real life.

However you get paid money while working. You also don't incur a bunch of debt. Many survey companies include the starter salary as a electrician. You can be union or an independent contractor. It's also not hard to start your own business when you become a licensed trade.

What suggests to you that colleges can just "lower the prices"?

I don't have a deep enough knowledge of the financial statements for non-profit colleges. Do you?

Didn't read through the responses yet, but I'm safely presuming jokers are overrating and overstating the prevalence and long term upside of the trades, am I right?
Correct.
