No that's the national average breh .

That market is over saturated period .
Like 50% of the class goes to BigLaw, or at least a SCOTUS/SCONY/DC clerkship.
At the very least, they could slide into a Bank, Accounting Firm on the legal side, or into Gov.
There's no way she should be only making 45k.
ADA and DA positions? United Nations or NATO?
Summer Associate programs should have been a focus.
A BA/BS from NYU should have been an easy enough "in" to a lucrative job.
The internship programs, especially for Black people, in NYC/Baltimore/DC are incredible.

college is a racket....

u can make money by creating your own products and services and selling them....i dont understand how ppl will work for 10 an hr selling somebody else shyt, why not sell your own shyt?

and u have other options like uber ....which i think will change the game...most jobs will be like uber in the future...where you're basically an indie contractor .....young ppl dont wanna do the office thing, its for suckas and fools
Its not a racket if you're not an idiot. There is a new class every year of students who get into lucrative jobs, internships, and fellowships.
A good GPA can get you into somewhere, its the kids who slack off and party without having well-connected parents that complain about their student loan debt and how college is too expensive.

2) Above the Law rankings : Not Ranked:francis:

3) JD Unemployment rate at Thomas Jefferson law school ( 81 percent) :mjcry:

Let's keep it real doe my dude that market is t over saturated ?

Everyone isn't attending a top 15 law school .

I know someone who is going through the motions now . She just passed the bar and before passing she would have to move to make good money .

Yes we do live in the dmv by the way .

She was over qualified for a ton of jobs or simply not qualified enough .

shyt was very frustrating for her so I've seen both sides.

It wasn't about her hustle she got with her mentor and worked for him as an independent contractor . To make money while trying to pass the bar.

if it aint tier 1 it aint worth it

plus good grades and passing the bar actually goes a long way

150k+ in debt aint bad if you're making 100k+ as the kids with good grades and go to tier 1 schools do

Honestly, this is a fallacy. A good GPA and internships.com will get you somewhere.
You can't tell me that every person who can't get a job after graduating applied to every internship and job position they were qualified for, and got rejected. It just doesn't happen.
Most were just lazy and thought they could wave their BA in Communications and their 2.9 everywhere and get a job.

If she didn't have a summer associate position lined up, a clerkship lined up, a shadowing position, or a Gov/NGO/IGO position lined up coming out of NYU as a Black person, her hustle was definitely the issue.
Was she even a member of the Black Law groups at NYU? I know for a fact they set up every Black kid who comes through and joins w/ something the first year or so.
I'm guessing she wasn't an AKA or a Delta either.

I understand cases like this in general. But the guy didn't pass the BAR. :snoop: Of course you won't get a good legal job without being on the BAR,
