Dude legitimately had the perfect sound and subject matter to appeal to the 14-22 crowd. He drops 2 albums, an EP, then falls off the map seemingly overnight.

And that 2nd album was arguably better than his first one.

If I remember correctly, I read in an article that an exec in charge of spotify playlists really liked 6lack's song PRBLMS, and put it at the top of a lot of playlist like "new artist, discovery, rap" etc. That's how he blew up. It's also how the industry really understood the new parameters of the game and how being in a playlist can make or break a hit.

This makes the most sense. I can't imagine multiple people liking his material. It's a mistake of the algorithms.
