It means not eating for 16 hours a day and only eating within an 8 hour window. I have been doing it for 2 months. Great results.

careful you dont ruin your metabolism and your body goes into starvation mode. you will retain excess water and face become puffy like the bulimics.

at least you doing right though :salute:

I eat when I am hungry and I eat whatever I want and I have lost 15lbs. I've got it under control.

then thats a blessing, but let me add this for the thread in case anyone is thinking of without food for days.

Why does a very low calorie intake slow down weight loss?
Quite simply, your body goes into 'starvation mode'. This mechanism, which is thought to have evolved as a defence against starvation, means the body becomes super efficient at making the most of the calories it does get from food and drink. The main way it does this is to protect its fat stores and instead use lean tissue or muscle to provide it with some of the calories it needs to keep functioning. This directly leads to a loss of muscle, which in turn lowers metabolic rate so that the body needs fewer calories to keep ticking over and weight loss slows down. Of course, this is the perfect solution if you're in a famine situation. But if you're trying to lose weight, it's going to do little to help you shift those unwanted pounds.

So how many calories should I have to prevent starvation mode?
Unfortunately, there's no single answer to this question. As everyone's metabolism varies in the first place, so too will the point when the body starts to use muscle to provide it with calories in a 'famine-type' situation. That's why WLR works out suitable calorie intakes for each member on an individual basis and never lets you opt to lose more than 2lb a week, which would require a severely restricted calorie intake. In other words, if you stick to the calorie intake recommended by WLR, you can be sure your body won't go into starvation mode.

As a general rule though, most nutrition experts recommend never going below 1,000-1,200 calories a day if you're dieting on your own. It's also worth bearing in mind that the body doesn't suddenly 'enter' and 'leave' starvation mode, like crossing the border from Devon into Cornwall. It's a gradual process - so you don't need to panic if you do go below your calorie intake very occasionally.

starvation mode is real a lot of our fav actors yet alone actresses cant even eat a sandwich between filming takes because they have messed up their metabolism and would literally face swell off any food intake while they still have skinny arms and frame. just a bloated look when they are trying to be chiseled.

regular intake little or moderate, but nothing will cause havoc internally.

I don't restrict my calories. I just only eat certain times in the day. I am doing intermittent fasting.

Why you even post that? I say something positive and the first thing you do is imply that I am starving myself? That's pretty ignorant. Fasting is not starvation.

Lol you don’t go into starvation mode that quick lol . That for extended fast like 30 day dry fast .

cool just a little "prevention is better than cure" for all those trying different things out there.

What happens when you dry fast?

When you are on a dry fast, your body becomes a waste-burning machine and eliminates toxins in different ways than normal. For instance, the accumulated fat and toxins in the body are burned up instead of eliminating them from urine, bowels, kidneys, liver, and skin

what type of foods and habits with this please? :lupe:

Breh fasting is the goat I can’t do dry fasting .

It’s dope for people who have the mind for it .

I’m
Telling you weight just melting off when you fast .

Me and my home girl dropping some weight before vacation . Tryna look good in them pics .

I do the snake diet so no dry fasting for me .

It’s hard man but it does get easier .

I fast for 48 hours break fast with protein and veggies . Go right back to fasting for either 72 hours or 48 hours .

Food wise I eat like a pig all protein :russ:.

20 oz steak , 10 wings , asparagus and Brussels sprouts :ehh:.

Also I do work out but only doing 60% of my max .

I just want to retain muscle I’m not focused on bulking . So high reps because I’m tryna take some quarantine weight off .
