Villa Straylight.
Which is why nothing with mass ever will reach the speed of light. But even getting close to the speed of light…imagine getting a needle to 1% the speed of light :wow:

Whatever that hits is having a bad day :damn:
Whatever that hits is having a bad existence it and everything around it might be turned into dust.

Absolutely not:stopitslime:. A concorde plane traveling at the speed of sound has more momentum than a pin traveling at the speed of light.

Nah? That's all you got?:skip:

Speed of sound: 343 m/s

Speed of light: 300,000,000 m/s

A concorde isn't a million times heavier than a needle

:mjlol: argue blindly on the internet, brehs.

A million needles weigh 44,000 pounds while a Concorde weighs over 170,000 pounds.

A needle weighs about 20 grams or less by the way.

Ke= 1/2 m v2

The above should help you put things into the context.

The biggest factor when working out Kinetic Energy is the velocity, not the mass.

The 2 means squared by the way.

You right :patrice:
It’s not the weight that makes the needle more destructive, but even so in the scenario you all are going back and forth about, the speed of sound is literally nothing to the speed of light. The differences in energy are not comparable at all.
Technically it was, but it created a huge logical hole in the previous movies because then they could have easily destroyed the Death Star with a tiny ass light speed traveling shuttle
Hyperspace doesn’t and shouldn’t work like that and that movie ruined the Star Wars canon. It should be ignored.

I'm leaning towards the latter outcome: needle simply pierces through the earth with no impact.

My mind can't fathom something as small as a needle creating a significant explosion. Something bigger, and more blunt, sure. But a needle would just pass through and we wouldn't even notice :yeshrug:
The energy from the needle would probably destroy earth before it evens enters our atmosphere:francis:
