Hey diddle diddle ray rice up the middleI would take Adrian over Walter without hesitation. I can just imagine AP with them Bears teams and what he would do. And this is no dis to Payton, i just think Peterson is better. But only time will tell if he will have the longevity of some of these other great backs.
I could just see a.p playing for the 85 bears

and theres plenty of championship teams where the quarterback wasnt the best player. alot of them had running backs as their stars actually.
I caught Walter a little bit towards the end. I didn't see him in his prime. Adrian Peterson physically has no equal amongst RBs. I'm talking no physical limitations. Walter had tremendous heart and desire. He was shifty when he was younger but didn't have the top end speed.
AD right now is peerless in terms of physical gifts. You combine that with his intangibles which are off the charts you get a legendary player.
When he's done they will compare every RB to him. They doing it now already

This is the honest post on this thread.
We need more responses from people over the age of 35.
Anyone alive to have seen Walter Payton's career wouldn't put AD even close to that level. Adrian may get close when it's all said and done but let this guy stay healthy another season, put up another 2000 yd season, win a super-bowl and at least let him pass Eric dikkerson, before anointing him a GOAT RB. It's too early.

Walter Payton had limitations that AD does not have. Peterson is bigger faster stronger and quicker way more explosive. Its not even up for debate.
I saw Walter.
I saw ED's whole career too. AD is better then him too. He's runs with more ferociousness..
The only backs you can really put on his level in terms of the total package is O.J. Simpson and Jim Brown.
