your ignorance of the past. You think the 1985 Bears was Walter Payton's career with teh Bears, when in reality he was past his prime at that point.

:laff:when did I ever say Payton played one season. I was born in 84 and Im not a Bears fan so why should I care about Bears history. The Thread title is A.P or Walter Payton. I chose A.P. This conversation is over. Deal with it

what are you talking about? all of your post reference when the Bears were good. You made a bizarre statement about Payton not facing 8 or 9 men in the box, and all other nonsense.

The convo has been over because you are ignorant of the past and proud of it.

which Bears teams are you talking about? They were shyt most of his career.

this was most of Walter Payton's career, and he did it on teams worse than AD's.

I hate when these historical comparison threads get made and people just speak with proud ignorance of history.

Thank you, I have to argue with people that weren't even twinkle in their daddy's eyes. People don't realize that he did the same shyt AD did and then some, with less physical talent and less rules with nastier defensive players, with less games played, with less snaps. :heh:

Do you realize that AD had to avg 1800 yds for the next 4 seasons, to match Paytons yardage in the same amount of time, do you realize how difficult that is? Like I said AD has a damn good chance of getting but his arms aren't long enough, let's see him stay relatively healthy 2 seasons in a row.

I wouldn't place AP before WP at this point. You have to see a career play out before deeming them GOAT or whatever. Plus, all the great RB's have their own respective places, so I can't say one is greater than the other. Due to the growth of the game, it makes it even harder.

Usually, folks start with Jim Brown and go from there (barely anyone before and a handful since did what he did). That said, if AP keeps up the pace, you could argue a top-5/10 slot, but he's got some work to do in order to catch up with "Sweetness".

Obviously the late 80s team.
