I stopped reading right after you said this dumb ass shyt.

You must be on crack.

You one of these nostalgic dikks who go overboard..

Walter Payton had limitations that AD does not have. Peterson is bigger faster stronger and quicker way more explosive. Its not even up for debate.

I saw Walter.

I saw ED's whole career too. AD is better then him too. He's runs with more ferociousness..

The only backs you can really put on his level in terms of the total package is O.J. Simpson and Jim Brown.

:whoa: When did I say he didn't, Adrian Peterson is one of the most gifted athletes I have ever laid eyes on, I'm not disagreeing with that, but what I'm saying is that great RB's or athletes of any sport are not necessarily the most athletic. AD has broken records but also take into account that Walter Payton did what they did in more defense oriented leagues particularly in the case of Payton who played in 2 shorted seasons due to the strike which negatively affected his career numbers. Like I said, AD will likely get there, but putting him at that all time great level is just a little too early, I'll revisit this if and when he breaks dikkersons record, or wins a ring otherwise I would put him in somewhere in the top 15 (though he is ascending).

call me when a team whos best player is a rb wins a super bowl :smugdraper:

I just cant put AP over the star qb's in todays game when teams like the packers have won the suepr bowl recently with one of the worst running games in football

You cant win a super bowl the other way around with a great running game and no passing game

One just did. :mjpls:

You have take into account the fact that Adrian is the entire offense. That man faces 8 and 9 men in the box every game

I would take Adrian over Walter without hesitation. I can just imagine AP with them Bears teams and what he would do.

which Bears teams are you talking about? They were shyt most of his career.

this was most of Walter Payton's career, and he did it on teams worse than AD's.

I hate when these historical comparison threads get made and people just speak with proud ignorance of history.

walter payton

with no question...
he was the better actual player, and revolutionized conditioning and weight training in the entire sport.

interesting enough...if you were visionary enough.
you pull walter out the time machine.
then, insert walter as the qb.
then, put ap back there as the hb, too.
that would be fun, to watch...

Not ignorant of history, just stating facts. Like the fact that defenses are a lot more complex than they were in the 80s. Adrian faces tougher competition in my opinion.

you werent speaking of any fact. You said, "You have take into account the fact that Adrian is the entire offense. That man faces 8 and 9 men in the box every game," as if Walter Payton didnt have to face 8 and 9 men in the box because of how bad his teams were before the mid 80s.

Can you name the Bears starting QBs before Jim McMahon? Can you name the other pro bowlers the Bears had on offense before the mid 80s?

You were speaking out of ignorance. No fact at all.

And it wasnt just you.

Nobody is claiming that the 85 bears offense was good at all, or at least thats not what Im claiming. Obviously their DEFENSE was their offense. All of that is besides the point. Im not gonna waste my time spitting out useless stats. NOBODY is saying that Walter aint one of the greatest but you got to realize that what puts him in that category is his intangibles. Adrian has the intangibles and the physical gifts that nobody else has.

you're doing it again :snoop:

Walter Payton played more seasons in the NFL than just 1985. Thats my point. Do your self a favor and do some research of the past before you speak on it.
