Let's keep it a buck.young black american men specifically like flash and there just isn't anything flashy about baseball like there is in basketball and football for better or worse. These kids aren't aspiring to be like baseball players the way they did during the steroid era and prior.

Baseball can be low-key boring sometimes and I'm a big fan.

The main reason baseball died out is because of how expensive it is and how long it takes to get to the major leagues. In the NBA and NFL you jump straight to the pros. In baseball it takes so long to master the skills that a lot of players have to spend a good amount of time in the minor leagues. It’s also really a more suburban game. Inner cities schools don’t be having the coaching, the training facilities, a baseball diamond for all that.

MLB was always a white man’s league and you had that division with the Negro Leagues. It seem like once the NFL and NBA became integrated black players became the majority. With black players becoming the majority in these leagues and both sports being more accessible (just need a ball) it became natural for black kids in coming generations to gravitate to them.

I used to like baseball as a kid it’s actually not boring (especially if you go to the ballpark) the thing is that most people don’t know what to look for. For example a pitcher working out a count or using different pitch types to break down a batter is some psychological shyt and in a tight game is intense.

in the 80s the league was around 35% black. Crenshaw and Inglewood HS were powerhouses in the LA baseball scene. If they didn't take us out through various means we would be 60-70% of the league right now
