I'm assuming books 1-4 is what got you guys hooked?

I read 1-5 while I was in jail before in 2012. I had to have one of the C. O's that was my sons coach rip the hard cover off book 5 and bring it to me out of my property to get my hands on it. The books hit so much better than the tv show I was never really a fan of the show and was glad I read the books before I ever watched. I get excited when I see threads about this series get bumped to this day, but the truth is he won't release any more books in the series. I used to check his webpage every once in a while, hoping for a sample chapter but he even stopped releasing those. The books are so much better the show fell off a cliff when it passed the books its really sad the way he left the readers hanging.

heres the samples incase theres someone who missed them .

Word, Just reading the battle Tyrion that partook in the first book that got Jaime captured hits different. Another instance is the shyt that Danerys goes through trying to save Drogo and trusting that witch cost her heavily.

I remember the first time seeing the show and seeing King Robert I was so disappointed. In my mind I had him dip with big rubies nugget rings on his fingers 14 gold chains on then I seen him on HBO and he was looking like a big goofy. Don’t get me started on the female characters. None of them really look as sexy as I had them looking in my mind. Books vs tv I guess .

Plus small things like cerci getting fat dresses not fitting when you read her pov’s. Lady stone heart story , victorian and all kinds of ill stories that got left out.

I finally finished the 1st book. :russ:

I bought these books after I watched the first season of the show like back in 2011.

I would say that the 2nd half the book really picked up and shyt got interesting. Imma start the 2nd book.

Danerys' awakening was dope in the book.

More than half through The Clash of Kings and Renly's death was way better laid out. Also Arrya's trek from King's Landing to The Wall(only to ended up as a captive in Harrenhal) was much more hellacious. shyt, she was lucky to not die after being caught by the Mountain like most people do. Also Tyrion's chapters are *chefs kiss* The way he goes back and forth with Cersei, Varys, Little Finger and the rest of council is incredible. The Lannisters are all cunning little shyts. Arrya had a gift from Jaqen to fukking eliminate Tywin while he was still in Harrenhal only for her to waste it on nobodies. I like that she admits her folly.

Thats why I hated that BS of Arya hanging out with Twyin in the show, she is a child and she is written as a child so she focused on the people that was affecting her at the moment without thinking about the bigget picture, because the bigger picture was in a tower and she barely saw him.

I completely understand. She's been through hell from having to live and survive in Flea Bottom, to watching her father being beheaded, etc. She was a child but at the same time she had a list of people she wanted to eliminate. She was just blinded by her hate for Weese at the time, which is justifiable. He deserved to die the way he did.

That show really fukked up his momentum, seems like he got extremely famous and stopped giving a fukk about those books. I doubt he's written anything from TWOW in years, he's more interested in the Hollywood projects he's had since the show.

He gets mad everytime somebody asks him about that book when he's promoting everything but the thing people have been waiting for. It's like he has no intentions of finishing the story and is hoping people stop asking about it, but he won't just be honest about not caring anymore.
