I never said she wasn't successful or didn't have a cult following. if you were really around, you would know what I was getting at but instead, theres a clear communication gap here. we're clearly not peers. nor do I ever see you in the real threads concerning that era. you only gravitate towards the kiddie revisionist threads like these. and your screen name is embarrassing if youre in your 30s like you claim.
she was dope for what she was, but after she died, they made her into way more that. in reality, she was a popular kid/teen novelty act. and had a fun run with the 1st two albums.
third album was a flop before she died. if you were around like you claim, you would know that. or you would at least try to dress it up like her real-time stans do. one of them is in this thread. I'm sure that hermaphrodite is lurking and will jump in and help you out pretty soon. YOU clearly weren't around tho. you may have been alive, but you weren't cognizant about r&b.
lol @ the bolded. you think I can actually learn something FROM YOU????

the guy who tried to tell me janet Jackson was a new jack swing pioneer???
you keep claiming that I'm lying but you can never say what I'm supposedly lying about.

just vague claims.
1. again YOU WERENT AROUND to know the sales climates. the big r&b stars were going gold rather quickly during that timeframe. and new acts were coming out, blowing past her.
the sales for her 3rd album were considered disappointing, even by her own label, which is the reason why they rushed out and shot the next two videos. we're talking about an artist coming off of two platinum albums & a movie. and you in here thinking those are good numbers. YOU STUPID. not to mention, the critical reception was poor. like I said, you have no clue what youre talking about. you think you can just piece together history thru what you find on google/Wikipedia and boss up on people who were actually there.
and youre going in circles about the Ginuwine thing. I already broke it down twice for you, and you ignored it.
Aaliyah was moreso a kid/teen thing. and she was never even tops in that lane. she was no superstar kid/teen act like a kriss kross or brandy, nor was she held in high-regard getting adult spins like a monica or Tevin.
meanwhile, Ginuwine was the top male r&b entertainer of his time. that alone should tell you all you need to know, even if you weren't there. but you clearly lack common sense. also, if you knew how to do research on what you missed out on, I wouldn't have to tell you this either. but youre clueless.
