Corny? Of course its drake but forced i dunno...Aaliyah isn't Tupac, she was struggling for relevancy with my generation let alone the one who fuccs with Drake. Doesn't really have sh!t to gain by riding her this hard. This is a guy who didn't listen to rap till he was 15...i'd say the infatuation is probably genuine, probably had Aaliyah & Aaron Carter posters on his wall & like a true lame took it with him into adulthood.

Back when the Aaliyah compilation of hits and unreleased tracks, I Care 4 U dropped, Timbaland didn't submit a new track. He submitted an unreleased song from the Aaliyah sessions.

I also agree that he could channel that era. This was a bonus from Shock Value and it sounds like it's straight out of '96:
