Almost 2 weeks in and I really like it. Good way to save and get a little on top. Definitely learning a lot, too. I'm 100 bucks in on aggressive. I said screw the government bonds.

Its better than a savings account although they say have emergency cash first before you invest.

I am about to go aggressive too and screw the government bonds.

Anyone used the found money feature? It's where companies invest in you if you buy their products. Gonna try it next time I need shoes or something. The list of participating brands looks cool.

Also made my first withdraw. It was minor. But I wanna know how fast I can get my money back.

Bonus: made my first .01 in dividends :blessed:

The app essentially automatically rounds up any purchase you make to the nearest dollar and invests the delta to get there.

In other words, if you buy a pack of extra small rubbers for $7.50, Acorns will pull $0.50 from your linked bank account to round up to $8.00. It takes that $0.50 and invests in ETFs according to your risk profile.

You can also setup recurring investments.

I have a $5 daily recurring investment on top of the roundups. I have a few thousand dollars in my Acorns account. Earning a lot of dividends, which get reinvested.

Is this similar to the betterment app?

Somewhat similar in that they invest your money in low-cost ETFs.

For Acorns, you can do an auto recurring investment. But, you can also do the round-ups. In other words, if you spend $40.50 on a Plan B pill for some thot you raw dogged on a Friday night, Acorns will pull $0.50 from your linked checking/savings account and make it an even $41. The $0.50 gets invested in ETFs.

For Betterment, most people use it to do a recurring investment. But, it also has a feature that monitors your checking/savings account and determines a "healthy" level of money for that account and invests the excess. In other words, if you have a running monthly average of $2000 in your linked account and your average monthly outflow is only $700, Betterment will work to invest the excess $1300 on your behalf. It has some good algorithms to monitor this.

Hope that all makes sense. I've been drinking!
