You're right. I think Action is a terrible rapper in general, even if he didn't sound like Ghostface.

Completely different topics is a stretch, but yes - that is a clearer demarcation.

But you have to understand, I'm a beat and flow guy. Action Bronson flows like Ghostface. This shyt is undeniable. If he didn't, no one would be talking about it.

And he picks out colorful/soul beats that are semi-Wu Tang-ish. This was a huge problem in the beginning. Not so much anymore. Action is starting to rhyme on his own style of production but it's been too little to late.

Sacario, Your Old Droog, and Earl... all trash. I don't listen to clones. especially bad ones.

I hate when people post that as an example. You're talking about Ghostface 20 years into the game. His voice has obviously changed and he doesn't have the energy he once did.

When I say Action Bronson sounds like Ghostface, he sounds like Supreme Clientele-Bulletproof Wallets era Ghostface. It's not the same Ghostface that's on Meteor Hammer.

But it's been done before. and way better. That's my point.

Action Bronson is fukking garbage. Don't act like people don't have legitimate concerns with him appropriating Ghostface and just being a garbage rapper overall.

Believe me, I know Action is nowhere close to Ghostface in the storytelling department. or flow dept. or beat selection. He is shyttier than Ghost in every way imaginable.

But you can't deny that they give off very similar vibes. And hip hop is about VIBES. It's not really a lyrical thing. The greatest rappers are memorable because they bring a certain vibe on wax that no one else can bring. You could repeat their verses, structure your rhymes like they do and still not get the vibe.

the way Ghost flows "Hold up, we at the opera, Queen Elizabeth rubbing my leg, had ketchup on her dress from a whopper" gives a very similar outlandish larger-than-life comic-booky hilarious vibe to "sitting butt naked in the Lamborghini, reading the newspaper"

Y'all are either dancing in circles trying to avoid the obvious or not intelligent enough to see the nuances.

Why are you playing stupid? You're the one that mentioned "because Ghostface said so." That was my point.

Are you a stan? Because I can't entertain discussions with stans. It's such a waste of time. All they do is deflect and twist words.

Are you semi-retarded because in my initial post in this thread I criticized this album as subpar. A stan would've gave it a 5/5. Since when is being technical being stupid ? To quote someone would mean to post an actual quote, which there was none. And the way you're quoting and arguing with 5 posters who disagree with you, why dont YOU stop playing stupid and just admit that your real agenda is that you dont like him. And if you dont like him as much as you say, why are you even in a thread talking about him. :camby:

so do you have an intelligent response/argument to what I thought out, or you're just gonna toss lame disses from afar?

I expect your type of response. Typical stan deflection from people who aren't used to reasoning their own opinions.

I gave you one and you can't counter it.

I also shook up you "Im gonna sound as intelligent as I possibly can and hope folks will fall for my bullshyt" tactic.

Are you gonna ignore my first post or you gonna play victim and hope someone pities you?

Bronson only sounds like Ghost in vocal tone.

all the rest of that shyt you talking, "VIBES" and album eras and "I'm a beats and flows kind of guy" is just :camby:

You need me to quote the shyt again for you?

"Im a beat and flows kind of guy." so they sound similar to you.

then you say their beat selection and flow ain't similar.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

they don't even approach beats the same way, plus Ghost has way more vocal inflictions while Action is one-tone screaming until he's out of breath

you are mistaking flow with delivery. Bronson been getting the Ghost comparison since when he used to flow like Kool G. I hate to sound like Ronnie-Rhyme Scheme over here but it's obvious that these two do not flow the same. You just don't like him, which is cool, but you're over here spitting out factoids like they're gems.

Flow is how you sound on the record. Rakim has a song called "When I'm Flowin". It's not "When I'm Deliverin"

You can break down the flow into rhyme schemes, cadences, etc. But FLOW is the all encompassing term that combines all that.

Maybe Action uses a different rhyme scheme. Cool.

Why are you choosing to ignore my point that at the end of the day, they give off the same vibe? For several reasons I already mentioned. Let's argue that, instead of getting into the minutia of multis, who eats more strawberries and shyt.

I gave you one and you can't counter it.

You made 4 posts back to back. most of that shyt was full of pictures like a schoolgirl book.

WHICH ONE? The one about you admitting they have similar vocal tones?

And that's all? LOL. so you're telling me that their approach to saying outlandish shyt with those vocal tones isn't a similarity?

Y'all dancing for real. Even Action Bronson fans admit the heavy similarities:

http://www.rapreviews.com/archive/2013_11_bluechips2.html

Look up the MTV.com bio on Action Bronson. They mention 'flamboyant phraseology'. That shyt is fukking Ghostface! Again, you guys are here trying to pretend like Action is SOOO different from Ghostface when it's simply not the case.

I recognize that Action Bronson has veered a little from Ghostface these days compared to when he first came out, but you can't deny the fact that the dude became popular simply because he was a White dude rapping like Ghostface. and because he has nothing new to offer of his own, it will forever haunt him. I know that makes stans like you uncomfortable, but c'est la vie.

Are you semi-retarded because in my initial post in this thread I criticized this album as subpar. A stan would've gave it a 5/5. Since when is being technical being stupid ? No you're talking about dude's album like it was ever relevant to our main discussion. Stop jumping around. You essentially used "Well Ghost says Action is cool so I'm gonna go ahead with what he said" as your backup, and I clowned you for that pre-school thinking. Now you wanna jump around on 'what is a quote' and get all existential, LOL. Stop deflecting homie.

The core of it is this: You rely on other nikkas for validation on what you listen to, which is fukking sad.

You know what I think is fukking hilarious about this whole fiasco? I never started this convo with y'all. I was agreeing with someone who said Action was basura. All of a sudden one of you comes out the woodwork to debate me, and then more of you show up and its a fiasco.

I didn't show up here to debate you guys. I don't have a problem doing that but it wasn't my initial intention.

Action reminds me of Kool Keith more than he does of Ghostface, although Ghostface kinda reminds me of Kool Keith

enough of this shyt.

They both got a high pitched voice. THE END.

You saying they both got "colorful, larger than life outlandish NY Rap" personas is like saying Danny Brown and Eminem are alike cause they both rap about doing drugs.

THEN you list their differences and say they're "trivial"

They DONT have the same rap flow or cadence BY ANY MEANS.

Bronson has LITTLE TO NO storytelling ability

Bronson is NOWHERE NEAR as abstract with his rhymes as Ghost

PLEASE show me a rhyme where Ghost is talking about jumping out of helicopters and doing triple somersaults through buick sunroofs.

HOW THE fukk do you compare somebody rhyming

to somebody rhyming like

and say "They the same at the core"!?

Is Mike Tyson the same at the core cause his voice high pitched too?

It's like you cats put on Ghost and just played the shyt in the background without listening, then heard somebody with a high pitched voice and flipped the fukk out.

Every time you cats compare these two cats it's an insult to them and it's an insult to you.

THeir voice pitch is the same.

Let the shyt go.

Typical stan cries: "He's nothing like Ghostface! It's just the voice. Everybody's tripping when they mention Action and Ghostface. Action's more like DMX. What? Because DMX has a son, and Action has a son, therefore they're similar? He's nothing like Ghostface". Thoughts of your typical, brainwashed, incoherent Action Bronson stan who likes weak novelty rap.

Every one and their mom knows that Action's at-times flamboyant bars are stylistically similar to Deini. He sounds and raps like Ghost, especially in the beginning. Like I said earlier in this thread, Bronson has carved out a different lane for himself but the Ghost comparisons and mentions are gonna haunt him forever because he's derivative and dull. Essentially, a novelty act.

But I guess these reviews and forum posts aren't written in enough smiley faces of Obama, various NBA players and rappers so it might be hard to read:

Y'all stans can get mad and try and clown but nikkas know. I'm not the cornball wasting my time listening to a bootleg Ghostface. At the end of the day, y'all are looking stupid. If you like Action, that's perfectly cool. But don't attack dudes online out of the blue if they weren't talking to you. Unless you're looking for an argument.

I don't get why y'all gotta break shyt down so much. Just listen or don't. shyt's entertaining to me so it'll get spins until something bumps it out the rotation....

Why are people so dramatic?
Sucks? I mean you've not got to to like it, or like the style but no one with their mind right can say that he sucks, same goes for a lot of rappers.
Certain music fans these days, everything is classic, sucks, top 10 overrated ,
