In a way, his career played out like a worse version of David Robinson. In that relative to expectations he was right up there with the best in offense defense statistical output etc⦠but failed to keep pace as far as lasting impressions.
DRob was in that category of Shaq and Hakeem⦠Davis was in that category of Giannis and Jokic. But with the way their careers played out neither ever got the elusive title as āthe manā like the other four did, and worse they got stigmatized as the poster-boy for getting packed up by at least one of them four (Hakeem/Jokic), all the while finally winning that elusive title in a perceived Robin role.
But at least with DRob he was an MVP and led his team to 50-win seasons. AD was mostly a failure in NOP and then wasted his prime years in āstreet clothesā or being ridiculed as soft, passive, never ready to ātake the torchā.
Sometime before the Luka trade Iād said AD gotta get outta there/figure something out because LeBronās legacy been set whereas ADās is kinda light relative to how he was perceived. Lakers made the decision for him, and then AD made the decision to come into training camp fat. As such, canāt feel bad for him.
