Franchise tags don't work. They don't restrict player movement. They restrict the player from getting a long term deal. That's why NFL players hate it. If the NBA had it, Kevin Durant would still be a Warrior. It would have cost the Dubs 2 firsts but you'd still gladly pay that for KD and OKC would still be out of luck (and OKC wouldn't have given KD that tag since Westbrook woulda been more likely to bounce)

Personally i share the sentiment of Silver, becuase it dilutes the product entirely.

As someone who can separate my fandom for my team, and be someone who is just a fan of pro basketball, superteams prevent me from watching lesser talented teams due to the fact that they lost there superstar to a mega-market and/or are constantly getting blown out.

Spread out talent throughout all the teams is better for fans and the league. Period. No arguing that point. For the players not so much but fukk em.
