No, tell the players, coaches, and scouting department on OTHER teams to step it up as well as the owners and GM's.

GWS generally is an organic team and they didnt do ANYTHING out of the ordinary to make themselves a title contender why can't other teams do the same?
Gws did it's job, they abused the cba as they should. But I'm certain we will see cap hit % reflect based on the year instead of the year the contract was signed. Someone like curry should still have a 20% cap hold regardless of the year he signed

It could've been prevented if guys like Durant, Curry, Klay & Draymond's contracts were limited by an arbitrary max percentage slot.

And for all the talk that parity in the NBA is dead. 6 teams have won a title in the last 7 seasons. The NBA hasn't had a stretch like this in nearly 40 years

Exactly. Unless you came up in the 70s this is the most parity you have seen in the NBA by far. nikkas stay overreacting to shyt and thinking they can predict the future. The Heat were supposed to ruin the league. The Warriors were not on anyone's radar as recently as the start of the 2014 season. shyt changes fast.

Bu...bu...but parity/it's unfair/it's boring=I'm mad that it's not my squad poised to run shyt

The only way you would see parity in the NBA is there is a hard cap and eliminating max contract. I think the max contract will eventually be gone, but I doubt we see a hard cap though.

I don't why people are so worked up about this to the point where they say they'll no longer watch basketball.. especially directing that hate toward the Warriors. I must have sat through 20 seasons, knowing my team wasn't gonna be shyt, and that the same few teams were going to rule the league. Didn't stop me from watching.

You also either lowered or gave up any hope that your team had a shot to be Anything. It's hard to convince several fan bases to think that way.

You almost have to watch it casually to enjoy it.

While I agree that other teams should do better the answer to your question is obvious...Steph Currys don't come along every year. Draymonds don't come along in the 2nd round every year. This ain't he NFL where it's all about stock piling talent and scheme. In the NBA you gotta have special players at the top if you wanna win. Only way for most teams to get those players is through the draft. And for the most part you gotta be lucky to be in the right spot in the right year. For example, as great as SA's FO has been over the last 2 decades if they get the number 2 pick in 97 I highly doubt they win one chip let alone the 5 they got.

Oh i get cha, you need a stroke of luck to land bug in the league but a lot of these teams hamstring themselves with bad draft picks and obvious bad FA signings. Like Memphis overpaying for Conley and Parsons regardless of the market. But we will see, there's a reason games arent played on paper

Some of the owners are really the problem. They don't want to spend money to compete. Every time the owners have come up with some new rule trying to screw the players; the end up screwing themselves. People cannot expect NBA players to be ok with living in places like OKC without winning rings. These player are drafted when entering the league. They do not choose their teams straight out of the gate. You will always have movement because some of these players do not like living where they've been drafted. Eliminate the max; make it worth their while and some may stay.

What Silver need to do is get on the owners whose teams have been horrible for years. Some of the owners really don't care about winning a championship. OKC's owners benefited greatly from all those playoffs runs with KD & Russ, but shied away from spending until it was almost time for KD to be a free agent. I don't feel bad for them at all. Thought owners would've learned from "The Decision", but no they're still trying grab all they can and pocket everything while expecting these players to be "loyal" with no rings and caps. Owning an NBA team is a luxury and if certain owners pockets are not deep enough then they should sell their teams. The current system exist because some owners don't want to spend, but want to punish other owners who are willing to spend to compete. Time for the NBA front office to stop bending to pacify cheap, non-competitive owners.

Its strange, because deep down you know they aren't gonna be anything, but you hold out hope that some of these guys will work out. Some of it was good young players that were just limited, like Jamison, J Rich, Monta, etc... and some of it was hoping guys would come in and spark the team, Larry Hughes, John Starks..... I even tried to be hopeful about Bobby Sura running the point.

Its almost like watching two leagues at once... you enjoy the basketball, but you know that the other teams will be the ones fighting for the championship.

I think a big problem is that you kinda get punished if you make good moves without having that franchise star already. You aren't gonna get high draft picks and the FA game is as unpredictable as it has ever been. So it's almost like you are better off hamstringing yourself until you hit the right lick. Look at the young talent the likes of Minny, LA, and Philly have on deck right now. Cleveland just laid on their back and got gifted 3 top picks that ended up enticing Bron to come back. Beyond all that everybody is making money so there is even less incentive to really try to do it right.

You are absolutely right, games are not played on paper. This is not 2K either. So many factors are at play that people don't consider.
