Silver just looking out for the owners and trying to garner public support for the lockout that is about the occur during the next cba negotiations.

yup, people seem to forget that adam silver works for the owners. so he's gonna be their puppet and spit out whatever talking points they (the 29 other owners) have.

What good is being light years ahead when you end up four points behind when it matters the most?

Lacob swag on a trillion :whew:

The next inspiration of jealousy was Golden State's second-round selection of shooting guard Patrick McCaw, who looks like a player. Perhaps McCaw, a 20-year-old UNLV product, isn't projected for stardom, but he has shown promise in these games as a solid rotation player who defends at a high level and moves the ball well. At pick No. 38, that would make for a steal. After a solid performance from McCaw, an Eastern Conference team official remarked, "Another second round theft for the Warriors. Damn it!"

Silver was all for it until he woke up July 5th and there were hundreds of angry exec phone calls and emails he had to deal with

Look at the clown GMs & Player Personnel Heads who are still around though. Everyone loves to deflect and have someone to blame when it's those guys who should get the blame.

The owners (specifically ones like Ted Leonsis) who pushed for the current system need to realize you can't keep the same incompetent GMs employed if you want to compete for a championhip

Ernie Grunfeld has been the Wizards GM since 2003. The Wizards have the 3rd worst record in the NBA in that span. Yet, he's still employed.

Lacob cleaned house, got a new GM in Bob Meyers and in 4 years was able to build a title contender.

THAT'S CALLED BEING COMPETENT AND TALENTED.

There's so many guys out there who can do a better job than the current executives out there.

The players shouldn't cave in the next lockout. I remember in 2014 there was a memo about guys saving their money to prepare... they better get on it.
That's the incredible thing. They weren't perpetual tankers, they weren't gifted #1 picks from the league, but they went to work with elite drafting. In 4 years you get Curry, Thompson, Barnes, Ezeli, and Draymond and two of of those guys aren't even lottery picks.

Let's be honest

The max was created by the owners to save their gm's from themselves

And they still failed with it....

They gonna try and setup a franchise player system, but it will fail (if the players have any sense)
The only realistic one I see is potentially a hard cap, but they'll need to kill that "max" shyt for it to work.

Even then, some of these GMs will overpay for a clown.

Hire better front office people is what these moron owners need to do.

Fully support Durant's right to sign to whoever for however much

I also reserve the right to root against the warriors like a motherfukker:yeshrug:

Season about to be lit, my interest in the NBA is heavily driven by storylines, as I suppose it is for many fans

Some of the owners are really the problem. They don't want to spend money to compete. Every time the owners have come up with some new rule trying to screw the players; the end up screwing themselves. People cannot expect NBA players to be ok with living in places like OKC without winning rings. These player are drafted when entering the league. They do not choose their teams straight out of the gate. You will always have movement because some of these players do not like living where they've been drafted. Eliminate the max; make it worth their while and some may stay.

What Silver need to do is get on the owners whose teams have been horrible for years. Some of the owners really don't care about winning a championship. OKC's owners benefited greatly from all those playoffs runs with KD & Russ, but shied away from spending until it was almost time for KD to be a free agent. I don't feel bad for them at all. Thought owners would've learned from "The Decision", but no they're still trying grab all they can and pocket everything while expecting these players to be "loyal" with no rings and caps. Owning an NBA team is a luxury and if certain owners pockets are not deep enough then they should sell their teams. The current system exist because some owners don't want to spend, but want to punish other owners who are willing to spend to compete. Time for the NBA front office to stop bending to pacify cheap, non-competitive owners.
We been in the top 3 payroll the last 3 years and played the tax this year. Team hasn't been cheap you talking nonsense
