I think you read that wrong. In Virginia where the attack happened. Slavery was thought to be on its way out. HOWEVER this incident lead to harsher way of life for freedmen and slaves alike.

Since you called me out, I will just say I am more read up than you. You watching Django one two many times and think that was real life. Like I fukken said before, they wasn't time for no slave uprising. Them nikkas had to get up and work every day, back breaking work, and maybe get 4 hours of sleep every night. The little free time they had, they spent with their families. You don't think there was some slaves that tried to buck? Of course they were made an example off in front of everyone. They had very little joy, and the church was maybe the only saving grace, but then again Christianity basically reinforced views on slavery.

People like him were the majority then and unfortunately they're still the majority now. the idea of giving up everything you hold dear to fight for a higher cause is completely alien to them. to them fighting means discomfort, alienation, or probably death. much better to keep everything the way it is for a peaceful life. cowards
