Gay marriage is only legal because of the us supreme court, it was a 5-4 ruling. The judge who gave the final vote to legalize it has been removed and replaced by brett kavanaugh. This ADOS movement do not seem to see the importance in the supreme court. They stay on the federal court for 40,50, even 60 years until they decide to not want to rule on the bench any more, trump has appointed numerous white supremacist and corporate judges and any significant progressive or black policy can be easily overruled by the supreme court. Republicans right now want to get another seat from the left wing liberals to give them a solid majority and they can steer the country in a dangerous right wing direction for several decades and centuries possibly.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. ADOS can seek reparations, AND America's abysmal political policies that support systematic racism can be challenged. In fact, they go together. It's not like this is a final pay-off. "Oh we're paying reparations so civil rights advocates will go away". It's "We're paying reparations so we can take a step forward as a country toward equality and 'insuring the domestic tranquility' that was guaranteed by the Constitution" .
So, what you suggest we do?
