Nope. All this hemming and hawing for reparations, it should be life-changing money of the sort where you can course correct overnight if you had a plan. If we bytch and moan for a check, not voting for otherwise good politicians because “they do nothing for us” amounts to “I didnt get a check”, and finally come to the penultimate conclusion of reparations, it has to be something people can really build off of. 10k can be gobbled up by personal decisions (debt being the big one) but wont let someone have the capital to shape their legacy going forward if they have sense. Enough of our people, real talk, would piss a 10k check away that it wouldnt make a difference in the grand scheme. If everyone had say 100k(still not enough), a lot of us with foresight can immediately get that money working on various positive initiatives.Thats how it should be handled if you wanna go the everybody gets a check route. There are plenty of people who would settle for 10K. Should they not be allowed to get their money because some folks wanna hold out for millions?
But then when I said everyone shouldnt get a check. And that the money should only be given to people with plans, ideas, willingness to relocate that will benefit the black collective. People had a problem and said I had no right to tell black people how their money should be used. Well, what right do you have to stop black people from taking their 10K and running?
If we in for a penny, we in for a pound on this reparations shyt. There would not be a chance to go “hold up, we didnt ask for enough. More please!”
?
