No where NEAR as bad in the U.S. as it is in Africa or the West Indies my dude.

And I say that as one raised by African parents growing up in an African American and West Indian neighborhood

That's why I laugh at cats on here who like to put women from the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, etc. on a pedestal. You can really tell who gets around people from other cultures on here from the shyt they type.

I have a couple of female African friends that I have yet to see without their weave. In fact, they always complain about their cousins back in Africa trying to get them to bring them weave, straightening irons, etc.

People think that people in those countries don't do that stuff because they aren't white washed, when it's really because they don't have the finances/resources available to them. They are more impacted by white influence than America women by far.

Friend of mine showed me this movie a while ago. it's a good flick. It's about a Senegalese woman who moves to France to be a nanny. She thinks she is about to be this cosmopolitan woman with the latest in European fashion, but she gets a rude awakening. Director made it to show just how neo-colonialism had effected the mindsets of African women, and this was back in the 1960s. Pretty sure it's worse now.

It's called La Noire De... One of my favorites.

While it is true that African women love their weave....I don't think men are putting them on a pedestal solely based on their looks.

But anyway I was just in South Africa and didn't notice any people who obviously bleached their skin. If it was so widespread I would think it would be a lot of people who did a really bad job of bleaching.

It's strange...Nigeria is the worlds largest importer of skin lighteners. I can't call it...but even my mom was on that shyt until the 80's when she started noticing how it was fukking up her skin.

I still remember the harsh ass scent of Venus De Milo skin lightener in the toothpaste tube smelling like a vat of acid.

I got aunts in Nigeria who go to sleep wearing some sort of skin lightening mask, waking up looking all fukked up and blotchy. Even my cousin here is on that shyt....look at her arms compared to her face...

she's damn near 50 and doesn't need it.

Don't let these niqqas in here front like it isn't a major problem in Africa and the West Indies. Got women killing themselves putting that mercury filled shyt on their bodies. I'm disliked for airing them out and always say I thank god they aren't on that like that here in the states.

I stay tryna tell em that too :ehh:

Say what you want but @marcuz was right with an earlier post...a great deal of africans/ our women are c00ns.

Even Men are doing that shyt now :damn:. One day my girlfriend said she's gonna hide her baby from the sun when she has one. I literally wanted to chop her tongue.

I feel like a c00n for still being with her :mindblown:

Leave her. :stopitslime:
