all that dem shilling and trump caping didn't do it. when black people turn up we get results.

I think the powers that be were legit spooked over the nationwide george floyd riots. Black people have power to litterally burn this country down if we are not heard.

Experts have already calculated how much we're owed, it's in the trillions. fukk studies and cut the damn check.
So if they choose "experts" that say we should get a one time check for 10k you gonna be mad.

Part of me thinks the "studies" are just stall and delay tactics..........on the other hand...........if they calculated that the total ADOS population is owed x-trillion dollars and figured out how to pay us, who would actually get the money?

At what point is someone considered ADOS? A cousin of mine traced our kinfolk back to our 7x-great grandparents (either 7x or 8x)...putting them around the time of the Revolutionary War. He found evidence on Ancesty.com of a slave owner promising our 6x-great grandparents to his son in a will. They were in Jasper County, Georgia but somehow ended up in Texas about 10-15 years before Andrew Jackson became president.

Africans stopped being brought over to the U.S., for the most part, around 1807. The vast majority of us could be anywhere from 6 generations deep (4x great-grandparents) to maybe as much as 12 generations deep (10x-great grandparents). You have 64 individuals that are your 4x-great grandparents; 32 on your mom's side and 32 on your dad's side. If you go up to your 10x-great grandparents, that equals 4,096 people at the 10x-gg level.

If a Nigerian-born woman marries a half-Jamaican, half ADOS man.......would their kids get any money? Then you have biracial black/other people....they have a definite ADOS parent, but might identify as "mixed race" on all government documents. I'm not sure how we'd treat them. Then you have people like The Rock. His mom is Samoan and his Dad is black from Nova Scotia.......but many of the Nova Scotia blacks were runaways that escaped slavery and got to freedom. Technically he probably has quite a few enslaved ancestors on his tree but, I'm not sure how one would answer that question.

I honestly think determining "who" is ADOS could be a bigger challenge than many realize. Of course if we get to the point where the money has already been calculated and the payments are ready :blessed:

I mean, the government can’t just commission something that needs to be in the budget without some type of legislation.
There are already studies and consensus among black scholars of the basics of a reparations package. We don't need them to find bootlicks to recommend nonsense.

African American Reparation Bill Passes California Assembly

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A proposal to establish a task force to study and prepare recommendations for how to give reparations to African Americans passed the California Assembly on Thursday.

The bill advanced with a 56-5 vote as protests nationwide over police brutality re-energized the movement for racial justice and activists pressed for sweeping reforms. It is a top priority for California’s Legislative Black Caucus.

If the bill passes the Senate and is signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom, eight people with backgrounds in racial justice reforms would lead a study into who would be eligible for compensation and how it should be awarded.

Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, a Democrat from San Diego who wrote the bill, said the study would reiterate California’s history of abetting slavery, even as it joined the union as a “free state” in 1850.

“The discriminatory practices of the past echo into the everyday lives of today’s Californians,” said Weber, who leads the Legislative Black Caucus.

The panel would start meeting no later than June 2021

Congress last June held the first hearing on reparations in over a decade about a bill to study providing compensation to atone for the country’s history of slavery. But the legislation did not make it to a vote.

The federal government has given reparations before. After 120,000 Japanese Americans were held at internment camps during World War II, the U.S. government apologized and in 1988 paid $20,000 to each surviving victim.

“We seem to recognize that justice requires that those who have been treated unjustly need the means to make themselves whole again,” Weber said.

Another priority of California’s Legislative Black Caucus passed Wednesday when lawmakers approved a proposal to repeal California’s affirmative action ban, passed the Assembly. Voters will decide on the measure in November if the Senate approves the bill by June 25.
:whew:

Taxes we’re already high enough though :lupe:

I will never get excited about election year shenanigans. I will believe it if they still talking in 2021. It doesn’t matter what California is talking. Reparations will have to be done on the federal level. No state can afford to pay that.

Did these experts all come up with the same number?
14-17 Trillion is where they all agree
So if they choose "experts" that say we should get a one time check for 10k you gonna be mad.
Yes because 10k ain't shyt for me. I probably cant even build a deck in my backyard for that. Should be at least enough for ADOS to get a house, a vehicle, and money left to start a small business. A few hundred thou to every ADOS family (husband, wife, and kids)
