After watching videos on the Detroit, Chicago & Baltimore school districts, how can it be fixed? Honestly--all bs aside.

Its all that simple.. A lot of these women had kids trying to tie a nikka down and it didn't work. Now they look at their kid, especially if its a boy, with resentment. I see this shyt with my own eyes.
This literally this.

Baltimore imported teachers because they don’t have plans for the future. Baltimore recruited teachers, instead of building their students into teachers.
It’s not schools jobs to raise kids tho. If parents actually instilled educational values then there would be more people here who are qualified to teach. But just becuz they are qualified doesn’t mean they’d want to do it which goes back to my original point. Who wants to deal with a classroom full of bad ass kids and parents who act like it’s your fault their child is failing all for shytty pay?

I’ve seen it in my own family with some of my cousins and their kids. We’ve even had my mother and aunts step up to assist but they can’t do that shyt 24/7 so the kids always end up fukking up in the end

I’ve seen cousins of mine barely get involved in their kids education. And some of them don’t even work so what’s the excuse? And then when the kids are failing that’s when they wanna get passionate about it

A school should be treated like a bible. Basic instructions before leaving earth. Anything outside of that is a waste of time. You saying now “who wants to deal with a room full of bad kids”, but when I said make the schools smaller you had a problem with that.

I thought we were discussing ways to make schools better?

Let’s keep it a buck. This thread isn’t for ideas or solutions. This thread is to shyt on black folks. That’s pretty much all y’all want to do shyt on nikkas or scream cac this and that.

Im giving real solutions and you doing everything possible to shoot them down. Go collect your dap and rep breh it’s all good.

This is actually why kids don't respect their parents. Teaching is a bonding moment between the parent and child. If you don't teach your child anything, and the kid goes to school and feel left out, then they begin to act out. Its bogus as hell to leave your child to the wolves of society by not teaching and disciplining them.

Creating smaller schools is a good idea. But the problem with that is you would need more schools and would need to hire more teachers. The whole country is having a teacher shortage right now so where are these teachers supposed to come from?

Let’s be honest tho. Income inequality has always been an issue in the black community. Our grandparents and great grandparents grew up dirt poor. But they knew education was the only way to succeed so they instilled that on their kids. Parents just ain’t willing to make the same sacrifices now and many of them look at their kids as a burden
people have to work longer hours possibly at two jobs, commute farther for work which leaves little time in the day to help with homework or teach the valuable lessons/skills kids need. what sacrifices are these parents refusing to make?

If you were a Teacher why in the fukk would you teach in the Baltimore city school system? If the kids fail it's your fault.

You may not know this but Howard County the next county over has one of the best public school systems in the Country.
This is the kind of mentality that fails students by the way

Rather than blaming parents, why not have paid courses in parenting for these parents? I think ignorance is an issue here with unprepared parents. I don't think there was much guidance here.

These paid workshops for parents incentivize them to attend and learn how exactly to guide their children in homework, how pta works, available school programs, etc.

If parents don't take an active role in education then nothing will be done.

If you're a hands off parent and think the white man's system is just going to turn your child into a superstar giving you all the time you need to have a good time you're sadly mistaken.

Every night you have to make sure your child's assignments and understanding of material are complete because they fall behind gradually not overnight. A great School is not going to fill the void that parents who aren't doing their job need to do. Your child still needs the discipline to take his own education seriously and that's going to come from all the micro lessons they learn
at home

It's a sad cycle. These kids who might not have a great parenting situation will become parents soon. It's not going to always be their fault, so finding a way to get parents involved in their child's education is important.
