nikkas are multi-millionaires talking about their children's tuition and putting food on the table. :mjlol:

$150m from salaries/endorsements with 2 rings?

OR

$200m from salaries/endorsements with 0 rings?

Give me the former. I'm a winner, I want to win.
i'm listening to NY Radio right now and they're talking with Michael Irvin. He gets introduced as THE 3 TIME SB CHAMPION, NONE-OTHER-THAN THE PLAYMAKER HIMSELF MICHAEL IRVIN

Mike has made a big second career for himself from being a Cowboy. If he would have accepted a bigger deal with another team, he wouldn't be where he's at.

fukk a championship. GET PAID FIRST. THe rest can come later.

Plenty of BROKE champions that gave teams discounts for a chance to win out there. I dont see said teams hooking them up with jobs when they go broke :beli:
The same fans begging you to join their team for a discount will laugh at you when you're broke after you took a $10M discount for their squad.

The thing is someone like CJ is going to get fukking paid anywhere he goes. You think another team wouldn't have been willing to match? For real? Its just bullshyt "loyalty" if you ask me. And the potential endorsements and everything else from being a superstar on a winning squad will outshine whatever mil or 2 mil extra he would get from the home town squad.

Plus he was before the rookie wage scale. He already had gwap.

Some of y'all are acting like that few million is gonna really mean shyt unless the nikka is retarded with his finances. And if that's the case, the money ain't gon last anyways.

Hmmm, if I'm in my prime, I'm taking the money hoping I can bring the ring where I'm at. If it's the tail end of my career and already made my cash, I'm ring chasing.

Depends on the sport...

Hockey and Football...Money every...fukking time...because one wrong hit can not only end your career it can leave your fukking paralyzed...get as much as you can as fast as you can and get the fukk out...

Baseball and Basketball...Championship and then money because you can have a real long career...shyt if you a left handed pitcher you can get your Latroy Hawkins on and make a million a year damn near as long as you want because every team in baseball is looking to sign a "lefty specialist" to get 3 outs that may or may not even matter...Plus with basketball you can go overseas and make some decent money...

Correct answer is money....If you never won a championship but you made 100 million in ur career you WON regardless of rings and all that other team accolade bullshyt...money and living a good life day to day is what counts first and foremost...

You dont think Adam Morrison would trade his NBA championship ring for a 50 million contract ?

I've seen numerous players try to sell their championships for money. Can't eat with a trophy

Top player in an elite position (QB, Star ball player)? Probably taking the rings.:yeshrug:

At that point we are probably talking maybe a 10%-15% haircut. The extra endorsements you would get after winning a ring would more than cover that haircut. Hell- you think Eli would be caking off these commercials if he didnt have those two rings?:usure:

Any other situation? Take the money and dont even think twice
And he still told em to cut me my check

Depends. How long do you think you're going to be able to play? Are you a backup or a starter? What kind of post-career options do you have in coaching, business, or sports media? Too many variables. Lots of guys go for the ring early then get paid, or get paid then go for the ring (that never seems to work out though).

You win you get paid more everybody guaped up these days no one cares about that in the end all that matters is rings...No one even talks about how Duncan has made over 200 mil in his career which is plenty of money his legacy is built through rings.

Now football get ya money the shelf life is too short
